Former High Roller: 1987 Lincoln Town Car Limousine

One of my cinematic guilty pleasures is The Lincoln Lawyer, which was a fairly silly title for a movie about a guy who just happened to cruise around in one of the most typical luxury cars of the era. This storage unit find Lincoln Town Car limo has just seen daylight after being hidden away for years after the owner returned to the U.K. It’s now listed here on eBay by the owner’s nephew with a $4,500 Buy-It-Now and the option to submit a best offer.

While a high-flying executive had any number of limousine conversions to choose from, the Lincoln Town Car has been one of the most recognized for decades. This body style has been immortalized on the big screen several times over, and despite my preference for a stretch Mercedes-Benz, I will admit it’s become a bit iconic. The leather seats still look quite nice.

The seller’s uncle bought the Lincoln in ’92, but it’s hard to decipher whether it was converted to a limo from new or later in life. The history shows the conversion was carried out by Lakeview Custom Coach in New Jersey, and the driver’s compartment is a familiar 80s Lincoln cockpit, though there may be some additional controls for the driver.

Mileage on the 5.0L V8 is listed at 120,000, which isn’t a huge amount on a venerable engine like this. The seller doesn’t detail any sort of maintenance history, but these engines are hardly needy. The color scheme is an attractive silver and blue two-tone, and given the Town Car has spent the last several years hidden away, there’s a chance it could be in far better shape than most of the ones left on the road.

Wasn’t this the car the limo guy drove in the Wedding Singer?

I am one for liking odd cars, if I were to buy it would buy it to just tool around myself on sunny days ( I am in the Northeast) Maybe tweak the engine run duals get it set to pass inspection and I would be good to go

Have to agree, definitely the most iconic of the 80’s and 90’s. I feel like the Cadillac counterpart was popular in the south, while these ruled the streets of the northeast. When i see one of these i still think of the chase scene in “The King of New York”

“…a bit iconic.” That word is just meaningless filler now, the written version of “uh or “um.”

The EBay link goes to a different car altogether.
