Thanks to eagle-eyed Barn Finds reader Larry S., he spotted a Porsche 914 that is free for the taking – but you’ll have to get there fast. You can find this abandoned project here on craigslist in San Diego, where it just appeared a few hours ago. The seller claims he acquired it after purchasing property and has no interest in the car, but he also has no information about its history or condition. Who cares – it’s free! The pastel yellow is a great color and you can still make out the Porsche lettering on the door; hopefully, it’s California location also means it’s rust-free. Which one of our readers will be fastest with a trailer?

Too far for me but I don’t think it’ll last long…….
I’d go right over but I’m afraid it would be for naught….. someone always gets there 5 minutes ahead and all I have for my time and travel is the ride back home to tell stories of the one that got away…. anyone notice the ski rack?? I think that’s what that is……
Not my favorite car, but my favorite price. Wouldn’t there be title issues?
Looks like the best deal in a while. In sunny, dry San Diego…has wheels…looks like it has some good sheet metal…might have some surprises like an engine, seats, maybe more. It would be good to hear from the person who picks it up.
Dry climate or not it’s sunk into the ground. Expectations should be low.
The first in line is supposed to be there at 6, friend Don is second in line, will be there in case #1 doesn’t show
Keep us posted….and good luck!
I’m leaving from Southern Ontario tonight, wish me luck.
You aren’t serious?
Bob S: Ontario Ca I hope …. lol
I’m keeping my fingers crossed #1 doesn’t show at 6am!
Don, If you are the one, you know we expect to see pictures of what is left of it…
Unfortunately the first guy to call, showed up at 6 and is taking it away now. “Another one that got away :-(
Sorry to hear, Don – did you see it in person?
bummer…
I got the car. It’s a real wreck but a great parts car.
What’s it got for parts?
Basically a complete car but really rough.
Whaaaa? I thought a little turtle wax and it would buff right out.
Hey Kyle, if you get a minute please post some pics on what you were able to salvage from that car. Inquiring minds want to know! Were the floorboards completely rusted through?
Very rusty car. But has the seats, steering wheel, gas tank, etc.
Good job beating the scrappers!
Well I got across the border, but I see I am too late. Anything else to do while I am here?
Wings.
I’ve paid too much for free collector car.
4×4 extrication from muddy pasture.
Kyle, we’d love to document it on the site, can you send us some pictures of what you found when you picked it up? tips@barnfinds.com if you can fill us in on the car and your plans for it.
I wonder if the other half of the ski rack is in the car.
Save that chassis!
Whoa, I missed the cool period ski rack! That’s a find in and of itself!
It’s a shame they left the driver’s side window rolled down….that tends to ruin the drivers side seat…other than that…I’d say a free Porsche 914 could be a really good deal….after all….parts is parts!
Bob S – just pick up some good ol’ US beer – none of that Labatts Blue, unless Don Cherry comes with it – GO Canucks!!!
