Neat and tidy are two pretty appropriate words to describe this 1972 Chevrolet Blazer. It also appears to be an honest vehicle, and it has certainly sparked some interest since it was listed for sale. It has so far attracted 16 bids, and this has pushed the price to $25,200, although the reserve hasn’t been met. Located in Miami, Florida, you will find the Blazer listed for sale here on eBay.
It would be hard to expect a 47-year-old off-roader to be perfect, and the Blazer has a blemish or two. The owner provides some pretty detailed photos, including a few of the floors with the carpet removed. Whilst the floors look quite clean and solid, there is some rust visible in the outer corner of the floor on the driver’s side, and this should probably be attended to before it deteriorates too far. As you can see from this photo, there is also some damage to the fender, and the strip is also missing off the quarter panel. Apart from that, the Blazer seems to have held up quite well over the years.
The news under the hood is all quite good. You get a 350ci V8 engine and a TH-350 automatic transmission. If you think that it looks clean under the hood, then you’d be right. The engine has recently been out for a rebuild, and the vehicle has only covered around 200 miles since. As well as being equipped with power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning, the Blazer has recently also been treated to new tires and new shock all round.
The interior of the Blazer is in pretty respectable condition for a vehicle of this age. The carpet is brand new, which is a pretty decent starting point. While the seats and door trim also look to be good, there is a crack in the dash pad, and some wear on the armrests. However, these should be pretty easy to address, and once done, the interior will be close to spotless.
When the Blazer was launched in 1970, it was an immediate sales success. It was a vehicle that forced its main rivals, Ford and Dodge, to rethink their off-road offerings, and to introduce short wheelbase vehicles in an attempt to compete with the Blazer. Today, the Blazer remains an incredibly popular vehicle, and this is best demonstrated by how strong the bidding has been on this one. There is always a great danger that older 4-wheel-drive vehicles are going to get driven hard in some pretty inhospitable environments, and eventually finish up being beaten to death as a result. This Blazer isn’t perfect, but it appears to have survived exceptionally well. That should make it a pretty sound investment that is worth a good look.
We bought a ’72 to pull our race cars. Pure truck, 350, 4 wheel drive, 4 speed, positraction, and lots of space. Gas crisis got us into adding a 2nd tank… the thing got 11 miles to the gallon running or parked. Great rig!
My 95 two door has same mileage as above
Loaded unloaded flat on the floor or coasting. 11 miles a gallon.
Most beautiful trucks made IMO. Perfect classic for a small family.
Prices on these have gone through the roof, but it was just a matter of time before it happened. Love them.
Looks to be missing all the AC plumbing under the hood and it was not a factory AC setup.
It’s an early under dash unit. It’s all there. Has a window tag appears to be one if the dealer installed units
These are expensive ,and worth it.Those who don’t get it,never will.I’m sure they will be happy in their Prius or Miata.
Nice rig for sure, would have liked to see it with the top removed though. Rocky Mountain plates but selling out of Florida?
Its rockers and floors seems shockingly intact (for a K5!) and they better at that price! I just LOVE this gen Blazer, got mine back in 2000 and still have it.That’s a good thing ’cause I would never be able to buy one today!
Best tip to prospective buyer would be get a soft top for it, they’re pricey but worth every darn penny! Don’t think you’ll ever put on the hardtop again…
Found this analog pic of my 71 from a true road trip taken at Miami Beach in ’00
Nice one local_sheriff. agree on the soft top. And glad to see pics are back also!!!!!!!!!
Somebody looking to cash in on their Colorado find. These are all over out here, and many in this condition. Most go for $4-$6g’s and I’m sure that’s what this went for. That’s ok, this is America, and the seller knows, up north, people will kill for these, but northerners aren’t stupid, and for $25g’s, it better look better than this.
That thing is awesome!
I wonder how much/ many of the dents a paintless dent removal guy could get out. I am a fan of keeping the original paint (if it is in fact original), but the dents gotta go!
BTW, I wonder what the device inline with the heater hose is…???
As for that heater hose ‘thingy’; given this is a Colorado vehicle my first wild guess was it’s a coolant pre-heater.
I cannot see any AC plumbing nor compressor;can it be the underdash unit ain’t no dealer installed AC unit at all, but an auxhilary cab heater? The ‘thingy’ is coupled to the upper heater core hose(inlet), so it may be a splitter to support the underdash unit with coolant?
I had a 1970 1971 and 1972 blazers best trucks ever I put plows on the 1970 and 1971 made a lot of money had much fun at the beach but they rusted away so they went to Chevy heaven😎🤔😇💔
