Georgia Short Bed: 1972 Chevrolet C-10

My favorite types of projects are those cars and trucks that look good with just a modest lowering kit and the right wheels. Chevrolet C-1o trucks are a great example of this premise, as this Georgia short-bed shows. The seller notes a mostly solid body and a spare, rust-free bed will be included in the sale. Find it here on eBay with a $5,000 Buy-It-Now and the option to submit a best offer.

The C-10 is equipped with a three-speed on the column, and sports an aftermarket steering wheel in the cabin. The door panels and dash panel look to be in decent condition, as does the bench which appears to either be faded or from another truck entirely. A later, aftermarket radio protrudes from the dash, but fortunately, the numbers-matching six-cylinder mill is still under the hood.

Some rust is noted. Per the seller: “The only rust is in the bed and a little on the roof near the drip rail.” The rust in the bed isn’t capture specifically by the seller, but whatever the extent of it is, it’s significant enough that a rust-free bed was previously secured by the seller and will be included in the sale.

If you’re looking for a Chevy, Ford, or Dodge pickup project, we have several for sale as part of the large Georgia collection listed as an Exclusive here on Barn Finds. This includes several stepside bed trucks, a ’53 with a 4WD conversion, several C-10s in varying levels of condition, and a Willys pickup with a lifted suspension. Contact me through the form at the bottom of the listings for more information.

A short bed with manual priced right – seems like a great starting point for someone to enter the hobby. Can’t see anyone can go wrong with this, actually had it not been for my other project I’d like to have it myself!

Yup and looks great with the drop. Had a long bed green 72 I regret selling a decade ago with a 3”/4” drop..

Great trucks that double as great hot rods. Lots of love for 67-72’s

Am I seing something no one else is talking about? Is that a rust hole on the floor board right under the brake pedal that is half covered up by a floormat? Or is that maybe a piece of paper that has been on the floor long enough that the floormat has been pulled over it instead of picking it up???

It looks like trash that didn’t find it’s way outside yet, did anyone notice the dash pad situation? It looks like its not there or not properly installed .

This truck is without floor covering, which we should give seller cred for. That’s a good thing as to look for rust in the floorboard when you only have pics for reference. What we’re seeing is just some trash. As for the missing dash pad, I wouldn’t even care to mention it ;that is a $90 piece from Classic Industries, probably the world’s cheapest dash pad!

There were plenty of other ‘wrongs’ with this one – air cleaner, heater hoses removed,no power steering – and I’m sure some folks would cry for it neither sporting a V8, auto nor AC, too! However, considering how easy it is to upfit this gen trucks there’s no reason to sob.At 5k for a short bed one cannot be too picky – from what I see this c10 must be this years best barnfind so far! Seems someone else thought that as well – it sold just a few minutes after my initial post…!
