This 1953 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 is a real survivor. I can actually believe that it has just 69,000 miles on it. Someone has taken great care of this car. I hope the new owner enjoys it as it is and continues to take good care of the old gal. I would understand, though, adding air conditioning and upgrading the brakes. The asking price of $15,000 seems reasonable for a car in this condition, don’t you think? The average selling price is about $20,000 and the owner’s original asking was $19,500. You can see a few things in the interior that need help and there are no doubt a few mechanical issues, but don’t you think this old Caddy would be a old car to enjoy the occasional drive in to your favorite places? It’s currently in Franklinville, New Jersey and for sale here on craigslist.
This is 50’s class. Cadillac was the king in this time. Add A/C and a dual ckt master brake cylinder and enjoy.
Well David, I don’t see anything wrong that needs tending to in the interior but to add period AC, one would have to find a Frigidaire trunk mounted unit and plastic outlets up through the back package shelf, and that might prove a problem. Although I did spy one in a 56 Bonneville a guy around here in Indiana had for sale a couple of months ago, so not impossible I guess. But then it would have to be converted and that might be a big problem.
i remember these going from being something special to just cars/daily drivers back in the day. now there special again. seems like a lot of car for the money. is that radio speaker, showing in the trunk photo, period correct? make it safe and drive it. great find
Don’t remember them having a “fade” on the radio. In any event if it were orig. equip. it would have had a cardboard type shroud around it.
In the early sixties I had an Uncle who had one. It was grey. Might have been a ’52. Anyway he would drive it up to visit my folks on the East Coast and I was fascinated by the gas filler in the rear tail light. Still am. When he died my dad got the car and promptly sold it.this was only about 1961. This one looks beautiful I hope someone buys it and preserves it. Puts a CTS or whatever they’re called today to shame!
Many of these quickly developed rusted out front floor pans.

Doug, I must have Seen the same Bonneville here in Bluffton . That guy has since sold all of his cars and vacated the property. Don’t know what happened to the Pontiac. I’m the other Doug.
If I had a car like this, within 50 miles of New York or LA, I’d enjoy it for myself as much as possible, and make it pay for itself in movie rentals. SWEET ride.
