This 1970 Plymouth Cuda is a BS-code car originally finished in Vitamin C orange, at least according to the seller, but what catches your eye right away is the bright green paint currently on display. Whether it’s a wrap, a repaint, or simply a mistake, this visual contrast is sure to spark curiosity. Offered by its third owner here on craigslist, the car is described as a rust-free survivor with a clean title and original drivetrain, now listed for sale in Federal Way, Washington. Thanks for the tip Curvette!

Under the hood sits the original 383-cubic-inch V8 paired to a 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission, an appealing combo for fans of big-block Mopars who prefer streetable power over drag-strip notoriety. While it’s not a HEMI, the 383 still offered solid performance and has become a desirable engine in the collector community. The seller states that the drivetrain is all original, making this car a solid candidate for someone looking to preserve or restore a genuine BS-code example.

Inside, the Cuda reportedly retains its original interior apart from the front seats. The seller notes the vehicle has been a “garage queen since noon”—likely a typo. They also claim zero rust, no filler, and no door dings, which is impressive for a car now over 50 years old. The exterior shows vintage-style Rallye wheels and clean trim, but the standout feature remains that bright green finish, which directly contradicts the claimed factory color.

So what’s the story, was the car repainted at some point during an earlier restoration, or was the original orange code mistaken? The seller doesn’t clarify, but notes they know the full history of the car and encourages interested buyers to call for more details. For those who love oddities and conversation starters, this color discrepancy just might make the car even more interesting.

Regardless of the confusion, this Cuda has plenty going for it: a straight body, original drivetrain, and tons of visual punch. Would you keep the mystery green, or bring this BS-code back to Vitamin C?

orange + green = brown 🎨
I would be very careful on this one because it looks in the picture that someone did a quick paint job over spray everywhere. Would not be surprised if there is a lot of filler in the quarters, or other places.
“Since noon” may not be a typo.
I was giggling when I saw that!
Smells like a scam!! What’s with the wood tire chalk and pictures with it parked in the brush? Nope!
Engine should be hemi orange so it’s after 1971 it’s might be a 400 not a 383. Door panels are missing the cuda name on them. I don’t see a fender tag. Tail panel should be black with a chrome trim. Just something off about it.
Oops cuda is on the door panels. Sorry about that.
$29,500.00 and we get 9 photos. Clearly something is off here. No frame photos. I bet if you took a magnet to the lower half on the quarter panels….it would drop off. I agree with Cudaguy. He must know Mopars. The 383 is a newer type of engine. I bet it’s stamped 400 on the distributor tab. True 383-4 would be stamped HP 383 and Hemi orange paint. Also garage kept! Yeah right like i’m the Pope😂! The Cuda is siting in a junkyard! I also can see a fool will be departed his or her money! 🙄
It needs everything gone thru and I’m sure lots of surprises will come out when taking it apart. Seems pricey but everyone wants big bucks for pony cars no matter which make or what condition.
Actually I don’t think there will be any surprises…you should expect to be looking at body work and fixing most of the car. And as for the question of the color, clearly it’s anyone’s guess since the fender tag is missing. The quality of the green paint job can’t be very nice given the overspray everywhere.
The missing fender tag is very unfortunate, but there’s every potential to make a great car out of this. Not cheap mind you, but the word cheap rarely finds its way into the collector car arena.
Should have left it orange.
This is Sad!
That half and half paint job looks hideous, so returning it back to original color is not going to upset anyone.
