We had a hard time finding a bunny barn find or even a carrot car to feature for Easter, so this big collection of eggs will have to do! These all came from the Easter Egg Roll held each year at the White House. There are 57 eggs in total dating from 1999 to 2014 and covering three Presidents. It may seem like a strange thing to collect, but some quick research shows that people actually pay decent money for these little wooden eggs. This particular collection is listed here on eBay where the seller is asking $895 or best offer!
I knew there was a party at the White House for Easter, but I’d never heard about the egg roll. Apparently, kids race each other by pushing an egg across the lawn with a wooden spoon. I guess they had to stop using real eggs because a few were found months after the event and that was a little stinky. This has been going on for many years and it looks like a lot of fun for the children. Please keep the political comments to yourself. We hope everyone has a happy Easter and that you get a kick out of this odd ball… er, odd egg feature!
Look at the “patina” on those eggs. And such low miles. Happy Easter!
