Micro and econo cars don’t need to be boring. Take this 1970 Fiat 500 Minimax for example. It might not win any beauty contests, but it’s definitely different and looks to be loads of fun. It’s located in Toronto Canada and is on eBay with a BIN price of $12,527 and a current bid of $1,278.

1970 Fiat 500 Moretti Minimax Interior

Moretti designed and built these custom Fiat 500s to be used as runabouts in the cities of Italy. The Minimax is very similar to the Mini Moke, but is actually even smaller then the Moke This car may even be more spartan then the Moke or the 500 it’s based on. The car does have a few added comforts though such as a fold down windshield and removable cloth doors and top. The doors come with the car and are in excellent condition, but the top is missing its canvas.

1970 Fiat 500 Moretti Minimax Engine

This car originally came with the Fiat 493 cc 2-cylinder air cooled engine, but about 12 years ago the engine was swapped for a bigger 652 cc 2 cylinder from a Fiat 126. This engine produces about 5 more horsepower than the 493 cc, but it still is only rated at 25 hp. We doubt it takes much to move such a little vehicle around though so 25 hp is probably plenty.

1970 Fiat 500 Moretti Minimax Front Corner

This car is mostly original and is about ready to run. The car has been parked for the past 6 years, but it ran and drove well when it was parked. Moretti only built about 200 of these little guys and it’s hard to tell if any were imported to the States. This one is located in Canada, but it shouldn’t be too hard to get it licensed in the States. This car  will provide just as much fun as a higher priced Jolly would, so someone better pick it up and enjoy it while there is still some summer left to enjoy!
