Years from now when people look back at the fuel-injected performance cars of the late 1990s and 2000s, the name “Lingenfelter” will undoubtedly be at the top of the list. Just like “Yenko” was to GM cars in the 60s, Lingenfelter and his team at LPE (Lingenfelter Performance Engineering) had their hand in building some of the fastest GM cars around. Utilizing masterful engineering and design, LPE could take your “stock” GM vehicle and turn it into a pavement scorching monster with street manners. Located in Duluth, Georgia, this 2000 Chevrolet Corvette has a Lingenfelter twin-turbo setup and can be found here on eBay with a buy-it-now price of $35,750. Check out this beast!
The great thing about Lingenfelter cars is they usually use stock drivetrain components. They replace the parts that need to be upgraded and add turbos or superchargers, but for the most part, they are still able to be driven on the street. The engine in this car has been tweaked to 427 cubic inches and turns out 725 horsepower to the rear wheels! To handle the power, the automatic transmission has been upgraded by Rossler. There are no specs on the turbos in the ad, but to put out that much power, they are probably pretty large.
The interior was done by Ken King and color scheme is really nice. The green trim compliments the dark-green exterior well. Besides the upgraded upholstery, it features a 5-point roll bar with harnesses.
Besides the graphics and the roof-scoop, you’d never be able to tell this was an 800 horsepower Vette. The ad says $150,000 was spent on the build, so $35k seems like a bargain. What do you think of modern performance cars like this one?
So nice, it was marked sold yesterday.
For 36,500 you could have all 3.
lol! I think you are right- that’s a lot of performance for $35k. I never really liked this body style but i”m sold on this one and those seats are sweet. I think the front spoiler and roof intake look great also. Nice car.
Sold.
I would love to own a Lingenfelter Vette but I think the roof scoop looks goofy since it is just for looks and the interior looks worse than the stock could have possibly looked. Personal taste I guess.
Love everything except the roof scoop. Beautiful color and interior. Wish I had a set of wheels like these.
It was actually about 15 or 20 years ago..I was in Charlotte NC and saw one of these beasts coming up on me on the interstate. I’m driving 75mph and Rick hendrick passed me like I wasn’t moving..the sound of the lingenfelter was unforgettable
This is not a 2000. The 2000 vette was a C5 with hide away headlights, wasn’t it? This is a C6. They went from 2005 to 2013. The earliest this could be is 2005.
Bill It’s clearly a C5 (97-04).
Those are aftermarket headlights that replace the popups.
Wow. Supercar performance for half the price of an M3. Serious value here.
