Well there’s something you don’t see every day! A Model T in this condition would be a nice little find. Apart from the obvious there is a lot to this classic. You can find it for sale here on craigslist for $8,900. It is located in Prescott, Arizona, and is being sold with a clean title. A big thanks goes to Pat L for letting us know about this one.
Troubled by tailgaters? Not any more you’re not! I know that I’d certainly think twice about hooking onto someone’s back bumper if I saw that pointing my way. In reality it is actually a reproduction of a Vickers World War I machine gun (complete with ammo belt and box), but that guy behind you doesn’t know that. I’d love to have this just to see the reaction that people would have when they spied this piece of artillery.
The machine gun is not the only thing in this veteran’s bag of tricks. I really am quite taken by this. That’s a vintage cormorant on the radiator cap. It just looks great. In addition to this it features the following Vintage Model T parts:
- Tire pump
- Jack
- Gas, oil and water cans
- Tool box with tools
- Expandable suitcase holder on the running board complete with a vintage suitcase
There’s so much more, and I honestly advise you to go and check out the ad.
The interior looks quite neat and clean. The upholstery is generally good, but there does appear to be some seam separation on the rear of the passenger seat. The soft top also appears to be in good condition.
Under the bonnet lurks that great old Model T engine. The engine was rebuilt a few years ago according to the owner, but has done few miles since. The only issue mentioned is that the car runs fine on a 6 volt battery, but won’t run on the magneto. Hopefully fixing that won’t be a big issue. The wheels also received new wood a few years ago and appear to be in great condition. It is well worth remembering that while it is easy to get focused on the quirkiness of this car, it is about to celebrate its 100th birthday. That makes this a true survivor, regardless of the accessories.
So I guess that if you’re on the lookout for something a little bit quirky, a little bit different, and for something that will definitely start a conversation wherever you go, then this just might be the car for you.
I’ll bet that machine gun (if it were real) could provide more forward propulsion than the old four banger ever thought of providing.
I had a friend who bought a Civil war cannon from Dixie Gun Works. It was shipped to the railhead in Los Angeles and we had to pick it up and bring it back to Las Vegas. About half way back a CHP pulled us over and made us turn the barrel around as it was pointing out the back of an El Camino and was frightening the others on the highway. Wouldn’t pass us for some reason!

Man…I’d like to mount that in the bed of my C-10 ……..every rice burning toaster thinks that the time to put on the brakes is when they have practically driven up into the bed of the truck.
Maybe I could drag ramps , have them drive onto the bed and then have a safe from Acme Safe Co drop and squish their toaster. We could export the mangled mess back to from hence it came.
I could just see some tailgating clown on the highway honking at that slow p.o.s. to get it off the road, have your passenger climb in the back and pretend to aim it.
It would almost be worth the jail time!😈
why would an engine not run on a magneto? seems to me as long as the magnets were in place there would not be a problem. could the gap be too large?
Most likely it has become demagnetised. Old motorcycles frequently suffer from this problem.
Certainly an interesting collection of ‘aftermarket’ accessories, to go along with a super cool old truck. This one epitomizes prepare for the worst, and hope for the best!
Beautiful! My only quibble is that looks like a water-cooled Browning .30cal, but if someone who knows these things more intimately disagrees, I will back off and shut up. I was military long ago, but not that long ago.
Not an expert, but looking on Google, the jacket on it and barrel does look much more like a Browning.
I’d like to see The Rat Patrol use that baby in the desert.
In my ill begotten poverty stricken youth, I saw an ad for a pair of WWI Vickers guns with a ring mount and I had thoughts of mounting it on top of my Datsun for tailgaters. Alas I didn’t have the $150 they were asking.

I think you won the internet this week with this posting Adam. LOL. For some reason this old truck reminds me of the show Bearcats staring Rod Taylor and Dennis Cole in the first episode I believe they are still in uniform and driving a truck similar to this one with a Browning mounted in the back. That was before they got the Stuts Bearcat they drove in later episodes.
Then again this could be a very early version of a Border Patrol vehicle who can say. LOL. I love this thing though. Seems to be worth what they are asking as well.
I’ve met the man that owns it and I’ve seen the truck up close and personal. Really cool old truck and the guy is nice too! He also has a few more gems tucked away in his garage.
