This 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is described as a barn find that was stored indoors for a decade, which has clearly helped it emerge as a surprisingly nice example that is offered at no reserve. Now, it doesn’t look like most of the Grand Wagoneers that are for sale these days in mint condition with spotless engine bays, but those trucks are also deep into the five-figure range. This one is listed here on eBay with bids to $9,700. The truck is located in New Salem, Pennsylvania.
The wood paneling is such a tell-tale sign as to the condition; if it’s rough, you know the truck in question sat outside for quite some time, or at the very least lived in a sun-intensive state. This truck has clearly benefitted from years of indoor storage and given it’s near the Northeast, it likely didn’t content with year-round sunlight as it might have in the southwest. Really, all the details look pretty good from a cosmetic standpoint, including the wheels, bumpers, taillight lenses, and decor strip on the tailgate.
The interior is in good shape too, and this is a major win for the next owner. Given how much leather covers the cabin of one of these trucks, it can quickly look like hot garbage if it’s in tatters. The carpet is also quite clean and the dash isn’t cracked. For a barn find, this Grand Wagoneer looks like an excellent starting point for the next owner. While bad ones are always cheap, nice ones are almost always pretty pricey, so the fact that this example exists somewhere in the middle makes it a compelling purchase for a project.
The engine bay is, well – it looks like an old 360. These weren’t exactly neat and clean under the hood, but they looked pretty much like this leaving the factory. The plastics at least still appear lustrous and the hoses look to be in good shape. The seller lists the mileage as just over 109,000 and that it “starts and moves,” but doesn’t elaborate further. The truck will also come with a new woodgrain kit, but you’ll need to do some rust repair on the rockers and rear quarters, but it seems pretty manageable. Where do you think this one will top out?
I’d say 15k to 20k for this
Wish they weren’t this expensive😢
I am positively sure that it will stop at $12,300.00
My little finger is never wrong !
