I think I’d rework the brake/clutch lines at the master cylinders to allow for a safer operation. Otherwise, it looks like a fun weekender.

Maybe because a Thing is too funky for you? Bugs to build on were dirt cheap in the 70s and 80s.
So it’s basically a 71 VW Bettle with a Jeepish fiberglass body and some tubular steel supports. WEIRD! Being that it’s based on a VW, I guess some VW fans would like this?? I’m a Jeep fan and wouldn’t be caught dead in it!

Had me fooled until I read the write up. I’d rather see this than a hokey MGTD / dune buggy / whatever / mash up. I’d even drive it in public.
Another one of those vehicles that pretend to be more than what it actually is.
And besides loosing the 4×4 and ruggedness, you’re also sacrificing what little cargo space a real Willys has left in the back to the rear-engine.
With the car not being fast either, you end up with a completely useless vehicle.
What a shame of a concept.
Paddle tires rear, skinny’s up front, and a 2150cc dual carb hotrod engine would be tons of fun in the sand.
I personally have no issues with kit cars unless the owner tries to pass it off as the real deal.

NY probably didn’t like the fact that PA titled it as a ’47 Willys… Or, since they weren’t driving, didn’t register it in NY after a move.
This has the same issue that most VW conversions have which is no way to keep the hot air from the bottom from going up and into the fan for another go around. VW engines are SEALED at the “waist” and there is a reason for that!
Take your SBC and hook the bottom hose to the top hose and see how far you get!!

No skid plates as far as I can see, and lots of exposed stuff underneath. Listing does say a back seat exists for this vehicle, not sure if that is worth anything. Not even good as a dune buggy. At least it has a windshield. Also, listing states vehicle shipped to New England from California…but…New York/Pennsylvania is it’s location?

I had one of these. I loved driving this on a Sunday cruise around our peninsula.
I never got bogged down in the dunes with a light load. I will gladly buy another, at the right price thou.
The bad news is I did have brake failure with the single circuit Beetle master cylinder ( very scary when the pedal went to the floor) and do not drive into the wind, rather walk.
Wouldn’t a 71 have a dual circuit master?
The 1835 should move it along nicely.
