There aren’t too many one-owner tucks over forty years old that come up for sale. This one is a 1977 Chevrolet C10 and it can be found here on eBay with an asking price of $25,000. The truck is a short box and the red and white color scheme is great looking. It can be found in Washougal, Washington and has been in the same family since new, with a bunch of original paperwork included with the sale.
The red interior is really striking! Just like the exterior, the seller says the interior is all original. The carpet seems really bright and the seat seems nice. How about the C.B. radio? I think these were standard equipment in every truck from the mid-1970s! You can see a bit of wear and fading on the top of the door panel from years of sun and forearms.
The bed looks almost as good as the rest of the truck. You can tell this hasn’t been much of a workhorse. A coat of wax with a buffer would probably shine it right up. Classic short-box Chevy pickups are about as popular as they come. They are very sporty and look great lowered or lifted. The two-tone paint is classic and the fact that this one is all original makes it that much more special.
Unfortunately, there are no photos of the engine bay and the 350 cubic inch V8. I wonder if it looks as good as the rest of the truck? In any event, this truck has everything going for it. One owner, short box, classy paint, and great condition. I’m not sure if there will be any buyers at $25,000, but there might be. Do you think this truck is worth that much?

I agree that the photos are oversaturated. However, this isn’t your basic C-10. Look closely at the fender emblems and the shot with the passenger door open. This truck has the Cheyenne trim package which was top of the line back then, even over the Silverado trim. This is fully loaded for the time. Is it worth $25k? Not to me, even though I LOVE square body GM trucks. It very well might be to someone else though.
Actually, Mike, starting in 1975, the Cheyenne package was second from the top, the way it always was. The Silverado took over from the Cheyenne Super. GMC did something similar with the Sierra and Sierra Grande being the top trim packages up to and including 1974. They went to the High Sierra and Sierra Classic in ’75. My ’79 GMC is a Sierra Grande which is one OFF the bottom, with its color-keyed rubber floormat.
And in Mexico today the Cheyenne is the top of the line truck while the Silverado is the work truck.

Rare to find an original one that is in this very nice condition.
Seller states that it is “rust free”, but I would still like to see photos of the door & fender bottoms, rocker panels, underneath, and the engine bay.
(I honestly don’t understand why eBay sellers don’t understand that more photos = more bids. …UNLESS you have something to hide.)
Still, $25K is a little steep.
I’d be surprised if the truck brings that kind of money. PERHAPS at Barrett Jackson, but doubtful via eBay.

Beautiful truck, and thankfully has dual tanks. Sucks that there is no A/C, as that will greatly affect the value. I think he should have placed the opening bid at 15 or 16K, though.
If it had a regular size bed on it, I might be interested, but that price is out of line no matter what it’s configuration.
Gettin’ better all the time! It really is in amazing condition. Mine is nowhere near this nice, but mine wasn’t $25g’s either. I guess, like 1st gen Bronco and FJ owners that didn’t pay much for their trucks, it’s fun to see how far this trend will go before the bottom falls out.
We sold a bunch of short-box pickups back in the day. A lot of them very similar to this one, with the exception that they were the GMC equivalent. None of them lasted very long as the majority went to the kids of the wealthy farmers. Half of them ran 454 engines and went through the mill. They eventually got ratted completely out then traded in for short-box 4x4s with 400 SBCs. I had some kids ask if we could order in some plain trucks with 454s and their 4x4s with 350s and swap the engines out before delivery. To that, I said: “Absolutely Not!!!” I guess you can always ask.
This one is a very nice example. I can’t say whether or not it’s worth the asking price but as a vendor, you can always come down; it’s rather difficult the other way. I see that it doesn’t have factory A-C, and I question if it came equipped with the F-44 (heavy duty) package so the new price would have been under $6K. I guess we’ll all find out if the asking price is too much…
Beautiful old truck, looks to be quite mint and the CB definitely adds to the awesomeness. Curious to see what it brings, but one thing’s for certain, trucks never lose their cool factor…and it’s a cool that speaks to every generation, not many vehicles can do that.
