Open-Top Cruiser: 1969 Chevrolet Impala Convertible

Big, open-top Chevrolets from the late ’60s have a way of drawing attention, and this 1969 Chevrolet Impala Convertible listed on eBay fits right into that category. Located in Georgia and showing 88,375 miles, it’s being offered as what the seller describes as an original example with its factory 327 V8 still in place. With a clean title and classic full-size proportions, it’s the kind of car that tends to appeal to buyers looking for a straightforward vintage cruiser. Thanks for the tip, Curvette!

According to the listing, this Impala is powered by a 327 cubic-inch V8 paired with an automatic transmission. The seller says the car “runs very strong,” though they don’t go into deeper mechanical specifics beyond that. As with most listings like this, that’s the kind of claim a buyer would likely want to verify, but it does suggest the car hasn’t been sitting idle.

The seller also describes the car as “all original,” which is always something enthusiasts pay attention to, especially on a convertible. The mileage is stated as 88,000 original miles, though as with any older vehicle, that’s typically something buyers consider alongside documentation and overall condition. The listing mentions the car has a number of desirable options, though it doesn’t outline exactly what those are.

Condition-wise, the seller calls it a “super solid” example and notes that it will need paint. That gives a bit of insight into where the car sits—something that’s usable as-is, but with room for improvement depending on how far the next owner wants to take it. The convertible top is said to function properly, which is an important detail for a car like this.

Beyond that, the listing stays fairly brief, leaving some things open-ended. There’s no deep dive into the interior or underbody, so like many eBay listings, it’s one where interested buyers would likely want to ask questions or take a closer look at the provided materials.

From an enthusiast perspective, full-size convertibles like this have a different kind of appeal compared to muscle cars. They’re not about raw performance as much as they are about the driving experience—long wheelbase, V8 power, and the ability to drop the top and cruise. A car like this sits right in that space.

With its original drivetrain, stated mileage, and convertible body style, it feels like a car that could be enjoyed as-is or gradually taken further depending on the owner’s plans.

Front bumper and chrome are straight. Needs a lot of work and cleaning up inside. Noticed A/C compressor missing and it does have a power bench seat.

From the looks I’d bet it has 188,000 miles and a powerglide transmission. Not a bad looking car but as usual with this writer, no price.

With a 327 and looking at the shift indicator all points to a powerglide. I believe 69 was the last year for the 327. After that full size Chevy’s had the 350. I could be wrong about that, my memory isn’t what it use to be.

Price listed on Ebay is $11,900 or offer. I am wondering why the car listed says Impala, but the dashboard trim above the glovebox says Caprice. Maybe someone added that. Car looks a bit rough for 88k miles. As usual, no picture of the trunk floor…a photo of that is necessary on these old cars. Especially a convertible!

Interesting example. In its condition you have almost a blank canvas. Power seat was pretty popular in the 60s.

Help me out. Is this “patina”? At $11k, it must be patina.

Seems unusual to have a power seat and manual windows. It seems that the windows usually take precedence over the seat, but apparently not always. I do remember a 60 Olds that my cousin had many years ago, that had power brakes, but manual steering! Steering that boat without any power assist was better than doing pushups. I’ve always liked the style of the 69 Impala, much more than the previous year. I think 60% of these cars were painted in this shade of blue. Nice ride.

Power seat was to see over the cowl. Anyone can roll a window down and up.

Nothing says “Copart Flip” like 6 photos in a lot full of wrecks and zip ties keys around the column.

    GOOD LUCK!

So funny that the buyer is hoping that someone will buy it before the Copart storage fees kick in and they have to figure out how to get it down to Miami.
