To own a car for 30 years takes commitment, both to the upkeep and to acknowledging that you enjoy the driving experience so much that you find it worth investing in for decades on in. The air-cooled Porsche 911 is a car that many enthusiasts stick with for years on end, and the only real change is to add another one to the mix. This pretty 1983 Porsche 911 SC listed here on eBay has been with the seller for the last 30 years and the current bid has just tipped over $33,000 with no reserve.

Man, I love air-cooled 911s without the big rear spoiler. What a terrific-looking car, and this one is about as classic as it gets with its original Alpine White paint job over black Fuchs wheels and a maroon interior. Truthfully, as much as the black centers are the quintessential look, I would probably paint the inner sections of the Fuchs white to get that killer 80s monochrome look; then again, I’ve been told that’s tacky.

Original paint is incredible to find, and as an added bonus to that unusual maroon interior, this 911 has the incredibly rare and desirable factory sport seats. And I will admit to burying the lede as bit as the big story here are the miles: this 911 has over 250,000 miles on the clock! The seller reports he used it like a daily driver early on, and that he undertook an engine rebuild at just over 200,000 miles, an appropriate gesture for re-investing in an old friend.

The 911 no longer see daily use, but it’s clear it still gives the owner plenty of enjoyment. Air-cooled enthusiasts will swear up and down that these engines are incredibly durable and long-lived, and this is certainly evidence of that. There were many German performance cars from the 1980s that earned reputations for longevity that still hold true today, so you shouldn’t be spooked by this sort of mileage, especially on a 911 that has clearly been loved.
