For potential owners, each generation of the Triumph Spitfire offered a combination of both advantages and disadvantages when compared to one another. The Mk1 and Mk2 versions featured the purest styling, while the early Mk3s offered the highest levels of performance during the Spitfire’s 18-year total production run. This particular Spitfire is a 1967 Mk 2, and it is a rust-free vehicle that would make a great project for a parent to tackle with their children. It is located in Seminole, Florida, and has been listed for sale here on eBay. Bidding has reached $3,150, and the reserve has been met. (more…)

Pretty Awesome Pacer: 1979 AMC Pacer Wagon
The seller refers to this 1979 AMC Pacer D/L wagon as a “pretty awesome Pacer” and I think they’re right. What’s not to like about a Pacer, and then it’s a wagon with woodgrain, it has power windows and locks and – drumroll, please – it’s sporting a V8! This eye-catcher can be found here on craigslist in Fredonia, Wisconsin. The seller is asking $4,000 and they’re open to trades. Thanks to Gransedan for sending in this tip!

Barn Finds Classified: 1962 Chrysler New Yorker
Sporting a smoother rear deck and quarter panels, the 1962 Chrysler New Yorker was a bit more modern in appearance than the previous year’s car was with its famous Chrysler tailfins. This car can be found listed here as a Barn Finds Classified and the seller mentions that it’ll be in an upcoming auction this Sunday. It’s located in Hesperia, California and they don’t list a reserve but they do mention that there are $129 in fees to the winner.

Massive Barn Find Stash Found in France!
One of my most frequent automotive fantasies involves going off on a hike in search of a forgotten garage full of classic automobiles. I did this a few years ago with a friend off of a tip about a field of Porsche 924s and 944s left to rot in an abandoned quarry. We never found them (they had been removed by the time we got there) but one adventurer in Europe fared better than we did when he found a compound of sorts east of France littered with classic cars and seemingly forgotten years after they entered the premises. The full article and photos provided by the explorer were shared here on Classic and Sportscar magazine’s website, which features many unusual classics like the Peugeot 203 saloon, Peugeot 304 Cabriolet and Simca 5 captured here. Manual Short Box: 1987 Chevrolet C-10
This clean 1987 Chevrolet C10 pickup is a desirable short-box design with seemingly clean paint, no modifications, and a promise from the seller that is has never been a rusty heap. The truck looks sharp wearing two-tone blue paint, and unlike so many other C10s, it looks to retain all of its original details, from the trim rings on the wheels to original bumpers with excellent chrome. Mileage is listed as being 75,000 which is low for the year, and while the seller doesn’t provide much in the way of details, the truck’s appearance seems to suggest it’s been loved. Find it here on craigslist in New Hampshire for $19,500. (more…)

Diamond In The Rough? 1970 Dodge Super Bee
The second that I spied this Dodge Super Bee, I said to myself, I bet that’s a Florida car. The exterior Live Oak mung and pine needles are a dead giveaway. And I’m no stranger to parking a car under a tree in the sunshine state and then having to deal with the consequences. And actually, outdoor storage seems to be the preferred method of storage for about a third of the state. Nevertheless, it’s great finding a Super Bee anywhere as they are so often overshadowed by their Plymouth Road Runner corporate cousin; a closer look is in order. This 1970 Super Bee is located in Tallahassee, Florida, and available here on eBay for a BIN price of $10,500. Thanks to Ikey H. for this tip! (more…)

Rare 401 Powered 1974 Jeep Wagoneer Quadra-Trac
Now here’s a find we don’t see too often! This 1974 Jeep Wagoneer isn’t powered by the typical inline-six or even the 360 V8. No, it’s powered by the big AMC 401 cui V8, which the seller notes is the same unit that’s found in the AMX. We will get to that in a moment, but this is a genuine factory optioned 401 truck. It’s currently located in Delta, Colorado, and can be found here on eBay with a current bid of $4,400 with no reserve!

Rockford Style! 1974 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400
Shown here in “as found” condition, this dusty Firebird cleaned up well (see below). The 1974 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 in Arlington Heights, Illinois is nearly all original, features some nice extras, and it runs and drives! The listing here on eBay shows and describes some rusty areas and a transcript of its Pontiac Historical Services documentation. Though not identical to the 1974 Pontiac Firebird Esprit used in the popular TV show The Rockford Files, it certainly brings it to memory. Thanks to reader Patrick S. for spotting this tasty two-door.

Mopar Survivor: 1963 Dodge Polara
Fords and Chevrolets from 1963 get a lot of coverage and examples turn up all the time for sale via the various old car mediums. Mopar examples from that era? Not so much so. And for that reason, among others, I am pleased to present this 1963 Dodge Polara for review and consideration. It is located in Springfield, Massachusetts, and is available here on Barn Finds Classifieds for $5,800.

Parked 18 Years: 1977 Porsche 911 SC
This 1977 Porsche 911SC is one of the last examples of an air-cooled 911 that can be bought for reasonable money while still offering a driving experience that will yield plenty of smiles when behind the wheel. Of course, like all 911s that aren’t water-cooled, bidding is still quite strong for a car that sounds as if it hasn’t run in quite some time despite being garage stored for the last 18 years. The seller notes that there’s very little rust present on this SC, and that there are some parts missing that may indicate a failed attempt at beginning restoration. Regardless, that hasn’t cooled bidder interest, as the 911 is listed here on eBay with bids approaching $18K and the reserve unmet. (more…)

Turn-Key Survivor: 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
There is no disputing the fact that this 1965 Corvette Convertible would present very nicely if it was treated to some restoration work. Just how involved this work could become would be very dependent on the taste of the next owner. Regardless of which way that person chooses to go, the car would seem to have no immediate needs. It is said to run and drive quite nicely at present. That opens the option of driving it during the upcoming warmer months and then treating it as a Winter project when the weather takes a turn for the worse. Located in Galion, Ohio, you will find the Convertible listed for sale here on eBay. Bidding has now reached $33,900 off the back of some solid bidding, and the reserve has been met. (more…)

Estate Sale Find: 1956 Chevrolet 210 Sport Coupe
For some people, taking on a restoration project is not a viable proposition. That is where cars like this 1956 Chevrolet 210 Sport Coupe fit so nicely into the equation. Until recently, this classic had belonged to the one family since new, and as you will see from the photos, it is a car that is ready to be driven and enjoyed immediately. For some people that is an opportunity that is just too good to pass up, and it would help to explain why bidding has been pretty solid up to this point. The 210 is located in Brighton, Colorado, and has been listed for sale here on eBay. Bidding has reached $20,100, and the reserve has been met. (more…)

Project Pair: 1984 Pontiac Sunbird Convertibles
If you squint, it almost looks like there are two Ferrari Testarossas hiding out in the dimly lit garage. Sadly, that is pure fantasy, but the pair is still seemingly just as unlikely to find in the wild: a duo of Pontiac Sunbird convertibles, locked away in a barn, and seemingly almost identical in configuration. No information is provided about the history of the cars or their running condition, but it’s safe to say the next owner will need to make use of the trailer in the foreground to get the pair home. Find it here on Facebook Marketplace in Milwaukee for $1,250 or best offer. (more…)

No Reserve: 1955 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup
If you’ve ever had any reason to doubt the ongoing popularity of classic pickups, then you need to take a look at this 1955 Chevrolet 3100. It has been listed for sale in a No Reserve auction, and bidding has been extremely spirited up to this point. It is easy to understand why, because below that shiny paint you can see plenty of evidence of the life that it has led. It has recently served as a promotional vehicle for the owner’s business, but he has decided that the time has come to part with it. The 3100 is located in Waukon, Iowa, and has been listed for sale here on eBay. There have already been 48 bids submitted on the vehicle, and this has pushed to price along to $8,400 in this No Reserve auction. (more…)

Barn Finds Classified: 1928 Chevrolet Truck
I could really use this 1928 Chevrolet truck right now. I need something more than my 1980 Dodge D-50 Sport pickup to haul a few things and this would be absolutely perfect. This nice-looking hauling machine can be found listed here as a Barn Finds Classified. It’s located in beautiful Van Nuys, California and the seller is undoubtedly taking a loss on it selling it for $14,000.

400/4-Speed: 1968 Pontiac GTO Project
Update 5/14/20 – The seller has dropped their price by $2k but is that enough to find a new home for this GTO? Find the updated listing here on eBay. Thanks go to Ikey H for the tip!
From 9/3/19 – In a radical departure from the sedan-like styling of the first-generation GTO, Pontiac brought this highly-rounded and sporty-looking coupe to market in 1968. Shorter in length and wheelbase (yet somehow 75 lb. heavier), the second-generation GTO set Pontiac up for success in the hot muscle market of the late ’60s. Thanks to wikipedia.org for some details. The seller claims this 1968 Pontiac GTO in Hallandale, Florida retains nearly all of its original equipment including 400 cid (6.6L) V8, four-speed manual transmission, interior, and even paint. I’m no GTO expert, but the $19,500 Buy It Now price here on eBay seems optimistic. Still, if complete and solid, it could make a dandy “Goat.”
