Either one of these vehicles would be one of the stranger modes of transportation available for sale, but these two are both available from the same seller in Berwick, Pennsylvania. You can find the unusual V8-powered trike for sale here on eBay, or if you prefer four wheels, check out the finned Model A looking hot rod listed here on eBay. The trike auction is ending quickly, and the seller thinks a lot of it considering the buy it now for it is almost 3-1/2 times as much as the buy it now for the hot rod.
Looking at the trike first, it’s apparent that it would take a somewhat tolerant rider to head down the road. The scariest part is that the seller states it originally had twin turbos, but that was “too much fun” and it is now equipped with just a four barrel carburetor. A Ford 9″ rear end puts the power to the ground — or at least attempts to!
Given the twin fuel cells, large radiator and battery box, some of the fabrication on this trike looks pretty decent. That doesn’t mean I’m the one to try riding a 350 V8 bareback (with apologies to Tom Wolfe)!
Here’s the other oddball; a “Model A” that is carrying a lot of 1960 Plymouth Fury parts, including the slant 6 engine, automatic transmission and rear axle, although whatever is suspending the front end includes disc brakes that probably weren’t on the Fury. And just look at those fins!
The seller has done an interesting job of “integrating” the Fury’s fins into the design. The rake of the body on the chassis from high front to low rear is interesting as well. The seller suggests adding rear shocks to the design; apparently they got left out somewhere along the line. I’d also want to wear a helmet to keep my head from contacting those hoops.
Honestly, the seat looks like a refugee from a mid-1970s school bus to me. But where are you going to find another vehicle that would get this kind of looks? Oh, that’s right — you can find another one being auctioned by the same person! Which rad ride would you be most interested in?
Yep…..The inmate’s are running the asylum.
back when I lived in Oregon my dad used to make trikes similar to this one but they would have a bucket seat for the driver and bench in the back.and if i remember right I think they used a Pontiac Fiero for the rear end. so this is kinda cool to see one.
Did Fiero’s have rear ends?
They did….in the front end :)
I never said i knew how they did it. they just did
would be way too embarrassed to operate either one
Maybe that’s why he’s selling them.
He’s asking way too much money for the bike/trike, especially after he removed the twin turbos and installed the rusty headers, which you can typically find at the local swapmeet for $20.

The car’s a little batmanesk. Just paint it black with some little red stripes and you’re all set. Oh and don’t forget a mock rear end of a jet engine. I wouldn’t recommend a real one though.
When they see me rollin’, they’re laughing.
I can see doing this to 1/25th scale models for fun but, to take the time and expense to do this ?! Even Ed “Big Daddy” Roth would turn the other cheek.
I rather see a trike with wings. :)
Well I thought the Buy It Now of 12k was a bit optimistic until I saw the last pic of the trike. That beast can HOVER! I’m all in for the full price now!… oh… listing has ended… darn.
Love the twin turbos in that photo. It must really have been something when both of them were spooled up and screaming. Visceral probably doesn’t describe the sensation.
Needs to add the “toilet seat” to the rear deck…just for additional Fury authenticity!! :-)
