It’s no secret that fastback Mustangs are one of the more desirable and iconic cars that Ford ever produced. These cars look like they’re moving even when they’re sitting still. This pair found here on Craigslist in Mulvane, Kansas are sitting very still, but that will change with the right buyer.
The seller states that the 1969 is missing the drivetrain but was a 302 with an automatic car. The seller is also upfront with stating that there is plenty of rust, which is not uncommon for Mustangs of this era. Where rust is a huge disadvantage a huge advantage would be finding available parts with ease.
The 1970 appears to have an empty engine bay as well, but this one will come with an engine and transmission. Unfortunately, no detail is given on whether or not it is the original drivetrain or if it is even a 302. It has had spring boxes and floor pans replaced already, which would save the new owner a lot of work if done correctly.
Both of these Mustangs have their respective titles and the seller intends to send them to a new stable together. It’s easy to see that either of these would be full-blown projects but decent projects nonetheless. Lots of time and money will go into getting these back on the road again so it begs the question… is the $6,800 asking price fair for the pair?
Is the price fair? No. Will the seller get his price? Yep. Fastback Mustangs are the flavor of the month (or year) and are bringing all the money…
$6,800 for TWO fastbacks??………seems fair to me! I’ve seen fastback shells bring $10k for ONE!!!! The 69′ is much hotter than the 70′!
69/70 Fastbacks are the hot ticket, if the seller had put the work into the 69 he would have been money ahead with the sale as those are the most desirable of both years. Hope both get restored or even modified just put back on the road.
How does something become “more iconic” or “less iconic?”
Looks like the 69 has since been sold. They only mention, show pics of and price the 70 ONLY!…….now $3,800 for the 70′. The Craigslist ad was posted 12 days ago and BF is just now letting us know about it??
Just one of the many perks of having Early Access!
Nah. I’d rather have the weird Buick fire brigade wagon thingy. If nothing else, ‘cos you can carry drums and stuff in it and sleep in the back.
