Here’s a mid-year follow-up that might catch your attention if you’ve been watching the early C3 market. This 1973 Chevrolet Corvette is listed on craigslist out of Gold Hill, Oregon with an asking price of $18,000, and it comes with a clean title and what the seller reports as 24,255 miles. It’s not being pitched as a ready-to-drive car, but it does come with a few details that make it worth a closer look, especially if you’ve been hunting for a project that hasn’t been heavily messed with. Thanks for the tip, Jack M.!

The listing keeps things pretty straightforward. It’s a coupe with an automatic transmission and is finished in yellow, according to the seller. One of the standout mentions is the sidepipes, which are always a conversation starter on a C3. The seller also notes that the body is in “good shape,” while describing the interior as “fair,” which gives at least a general sense of where things stand without going too far into detail.

Where things shift a bit is the car’s recent history. The seller says it has been garaged since 2012 and currently does not start. They mention that it will need a battery and some general attention to get it going again. That’s about as far as the mechanical description goes, so there are definitely some unknowns here. As with most cars that have been sitting for that long, it’s probably safe to assume there will be a list of things to sort out, but the listing doesn’t go into specifics beyond that.

There are a couple of small extras included as well. The seller mentions having the owner’s manual, which is always a nice touch for anyone who appreciates documentation. It’s also being sold with a clean title, which at least simplifies the paperwork side of things.

From an enthusiast’s perspective, this feels like one of those “in-between” cars. It’s not presented as a basket case, but it’s also clearly not something you’re driving home without putting in some effort first. The combination of relatively low stated mileage, long-term storage, and a simple description leaves a lot open to interpretation, which can either be exciting or a bit of a gamble, depending on how you look at it.

Early C3s like this still have a strong following, and cars that haven’t been constantly flipped or modified tend to draw interest. This one seems to fall into that category, even if it needs some attention before it’s back on the road.

Dealing with coughing classics back to life like these, routing the entire fuel system is high on the to do list.
One of the worst tanks to install, even with 4 hands, if you squeeze it past dual exhaust.

I like it but this does not present as a low mileage car.
124k miles and it shows every mile.
Amen to that! It looks like it has seen some use.
The yellow is a sharp color on these.
Gas tank removal on a 73 is easy. Take off mufflers.
Even easier with side pipes! Just don’t burn your leg getting out of it, and warn every passenger, twice! Ask me how I know?
I always liked the ’73 body style with the soft nose and chrome rear bumpers. This one could be a great car, but be prepared to spend a lot of money. Plan to keep this car after you make it right, because it won’t be a high dollar flip. $18k? I don’t think so. I think most reasonable offers will start around $6k.
really should have offered more info on the non-running condition. fuel, spark. battery? it’s any body’s guess.18k is way too much for this in this condition. if were running maybe.73 are hard to sell with the body looks.
The opening photo must have been taken in this Vette’s earlier life, much earlier. Hard no.
Hope the hood hasn’t cracked near the latches, the intake and air breather are too tall.
More than twice what I’d pay for it but it’s a good looking car.
Crappy ad and pics.Too many ??? for the asking price.
