The Pontiac Grand Prix was produced from 1962 to 2008 and underwent many design changes. The ’85 came with optional two-tone paint and an ETR stereo system with push buttons instead of dials. The car came with the option for rare turbo finned wheels, which this example appears to be wearing. This Grand Prix is offered for auction on eBay with 116k miles. The auction ends Friday the 29th.
The exterior of the Grand Prix is finished in a factory Sedona tan two-tone paint. The paint appears to be in decent condition for the age of the car, though there seem to be a couple of dents on the car’s front right quarter panel and door. Potentially, the next owner could remove the damage with paintless dent removal. The car is also said to have some minor rust. The ’85 allegedly received new tires and breaks recently.
The interior is in decent condition and is a color-matched camel and tan throughout. The Grand Prix’s drivers cloth seat appears to have some water damage and tearing that the next owner may want to address. The dash and gauge cluster sport very ’80s wood accents. The seller notes that the car was recently detailed and has had its air conditioning system serviced.
A 5.0l V8 sends power to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission. The seller notes that the car runs and drives great. This rare two-toned Grand Prix would be a great purchase for someone who wants a nostalgic car that offers both comfort and relative power. It’s a car the next owner could easily drive and enjoy right after purchase or it could potentially act as a great platform for some modifications. If you think you need to add this golden-era car to your fleet bid on eBay before the auction ends on Friday.
Auction ended showing $2225.
If it actually changed hands for $2250 that’s a good deal and maybe a sign of sanity in the market.
This generation of GM cars is, IMO, undistinguished, at best. At least in stock form.
As a blank slate to build something that is distinguished, they offer a lot and $2K is a good initial price.

Hear, hear.
Paintless dent removal? LOL. I’m not so sure. Otherwise it’s a good looking GP. One thing is if the air doesn’t work you know the windows do.
Funny how the same year Cutlass would bring more than double what this did. Somebody got a great deal!
“Rare color”. Ha ha ha!
The two-tone was rare for a reason… very uninspiring colors and the strobe striping separation of the two just looks cheap.
