Would You Drive This Pink 1990 Porsche 911?

This 1990 Porsche 911 is one of the rarest models you can find, as it left the factory with special order paint – otherwise known as paint to sample – in a shade known as karminrot. You may simply see a pink car; I see a 911 none of the Porsche fanboys will have at Cars & Coffee. Regardless of your desire to one-up your peers, this 911 is also a catch for being a true Euro-spec car in nicely preserved condition. Find it here on eBay with a $97,900 asking price and the option to submit a best offer.

The paint is certainly not going to be to everyone’s taste, but the German makes in particular have a habit of offering these limited-availability colors and subsequently creating some of the most valuable and desirable models. The 964 chassis in particular seems to have been the high-water mark for the paint-to-sample cars, as this isn’t the first one I’ve seen.

Depending on your appreciation for modifications, this 911 may turn you off due to the short-ram air intake, carbon fiber high-flow intake manifolds, aftermarket exhaust, RS clutch and light-weight flywheel. Really, those seem like pretty sensible mods that don’t wildly distort the car’s originality and are easily reversible. It also comes with a limited-slip rear end.

The Oyster leather interior is probably one of the better color options for this wild exterior, and despite having 54,594 miles, it remains in very nice shape. The seller claims it is mint, with no rips or stains and that the dashboard isn’t warped or cracked. All electronics and A/C works, too. Not for everyone but undoubtedly a very collectible version of Porsche’s 964 platform.

Sensible performance mods; probably a blast to drive! Would I drive it? In a heartbeat! Why let cosmetics or some phony perceived image get in the way of a good time!

Bunch o guys lacking confidence in their manhood. I’d drive this mother the way it sits until they buried me in it. The driving experience would make every insult and sideways glance irrelevant.

Karminrot translates as carmine or crimson red. Guessing pink may not be this cars original color.

From 1973 to 1977 Porsche offered this magenta color but for some reason called it Karminrot. So, the name and this color do go together.

I would carry a sword 🗡 like in kill bill movie when she got the pink wagon with vanity plates that was crude .

    Or more likely ,,…,
Drive this car to Walmart and spend 30 dollars on primer rattle cans . spray in parking lot to drive customers crazy and park far from car. Then drive it like I stole it daily until it broke down.

Then rent a barn and take pictures spinning a yarn story to sell back here 😏😉👀😂😂

    Who paints a-car pink…ugh

Reminds me of the original International Race of Campions Porches from the mid 70s; don’t remember which racer had the pink one. I’d dress it up to look like the one from the IROC and drive the daylights out of it!

This color is just right for North Hollywood, Key West, Province Town, or Laguna Beach. You need “sugar in your boots”, to be seen driving this! Not that there’s anything wrong with that!

I like it. I guess I like most COLORS. I have a white 911SC and wish it were some other color. But it all looks good once I’m buckled in and driving.
What most others see is RED… taillights.
My manhood is not determined in anyway by auto paint colors.
Maybe a little more by oil, torque wrenches and dial indicators. (to set the cam timing.)

Vinyl wrap. Could even use small amount of the original. I could see a very cool design. My 993 is done up in Repsol livery circa ‘90s.

    Absolutely.

Thirty years ago I had a Pepto-Bismol pink ’59 Cadillac limo. It was a lot of fun. And I’d rock this Porsche just as hard.

    That’s quite a price though.

Omg. I could see a cute blond in it, or a brother of another sexual persuasion. But a heterosexual male? Not really. I think the seller would need to lower the price to cover a paint job. Say $20k. Though the rattle can, Earl Scheib comments were hilarious. Unless they were serious! lol.

I don’t have a problem with the color just the price; that’s a bit much for a C2 964. I’m ok with different colors; one of my 911’s was Rosewood I didn’t want Guards Red or Black. One of my TR6’s was Magenta. I put 10,000 miles on it in 1990 ; fun car fun color. Bring on the Rubystone Porsches, Aconite MG’s and Plum Crazy Mopars.

There’s that white carpeting again. No center armrest?
Phony door “vent” windows & door windows WITH a frame around them is hardly what i would call sporty. How come the poor man’s Porsche, the more stylish Karmen Ghia has neither?!!

Man that’s pretty easy. Id drive it forever. If you explained someone GAVE it to you if you would drive it, everyone would understand. Of course you have to be secure in your own skin… and when you see some cute chick, you could tell her it was to raise breast cancer awareness. You might go home with a new friend :)

It’s not at all pink. It’s raspberry. Not faerie pink. A tough man’s color, for sure. Take your special car to the front line. Back up your manhood with the car. Be as bold as you pretend to be a wuss. Just ask The Rock.

It’s a damned car. Drive it. Can hardly see the color from the driver’s seat.
WRT manhood, there is no relationship.
If it were a 1950 or older heavy truck, yes, then testosterone and shoulder strength might figure in.
