Rare Warlock: 1979 Dodge Power Wagon

Some of the most enthusiast-focused vehicles have come from the fine folks at Chrysler Corporation, who to this day continue to build high—performance machines for very reasonable prices. Back in the 70s, Dodge’s “Adult Toys” lineup produced many memorable special edition trucks that have become increasingly hard to find owing to the fact that these rigs were upgraded cosmetically and didn’t get assigned unique VINs or other easily traceable features aside from whatever the dress-up kit contained. So, finding an original Dodge Power Wagon Warlock – one of the models offered under the Adult Toys brand – is worth a closer look. Check it out here on eBay with an $11,500 or best offer asking price.

The Warlock was a bad-ass rig, and this one wears an authentic patina that can be used as-is without feeling any immediate pressure to repaint in the near term. The truck is well equipped with a step-side bed, four wheel drive, a 360 V8, and automatic transmission. It appears the seller or a previous owner has thrown on some aftermarket wheels painted bronze and some knobby all-terrain tires, and the bumpers both appear to be non-factory items. The tailgate is missing but aside from finding one with a similar level of wear and age, it won’t be a hard part to replace.

The seller of this rare Warlock is none other than Collins Brothers Jeep, led by known gearhead and barn find explorer Dennis Collins. The Dodge’s engine is in unknown condition, as no attempt has been made to rotate it or otherwise start it. Interestingly, when the Warlock was first shown in concept form, the response was so positive that Dodge had to move quickly to get it into production. In addition to the features mentioned above, the Warlock’s also came with actual oak sideboards mounted on top of the bed sides – and those appear to be missing. It you buy this Warlock, you have to promise to find a set and add them.

The factory “Tuff” steering wheel remains, another key feature of the Warlock. The seller notes that the paint is original with only the hood being refinished, and further proof of this is in the pinstriping that remains in place around the body. Any of the Adult Toys trucks that remain somewhat original are sought-after by Mopar enthusiasts, and this one looks like a very solid baseline for simply tidying up and enjoying. Since you won’t want to disrupt the original paint, I would simply get it running, find a tailgate, install the oak side boards, and throw in the included Americana 4×4 rubber floor mats that are included with the sale.

Remember cutting firewood on a logging road, and a 90′ or so Chevy stepside 4×4 rolled by with an absolute tower of firewood 🪵 on board lol.
It was all chopped 🪓 and stacked perfectly. He added 4 sides to the bed of the little truck and took as much as possible out of there.

If you just happen to have a spare Dodge 360 laying around? Mr. Collins will take your money, and you’ll be cruisin’ by Saturday. I don’t think so. This one looks a little beat.

He’s dreaming. I wouldn’t ever consider that amount of money. Not that many around but still needs why to much. He’s part of the problem with high prices for everything.

I love the way someone drilled holes on either side of the dash cluster for speakers…where optional clock and/or tach would go. And the radio is MIA.

Hey Dennis. I have an original Warlock that runs and drives. I’m the original owner. Bought it brand new when I was sixteen years old . Have the original dealer receipt. That thing is pretty rough for 11500.

I agree. To rough for $11,500. I had the chance to buy a WARLOCK in the 80’s. Wished I could have gotten it financed.

Just because it is affiliated with Dennis Collins, does it justify paying at least double of what it is worth?

Maybe so, based on the same math that is done by anything sold by Mark Worman.
