Reader Ad: 1941 Packard 120 Convertible Project

SOLD

Asking Price: $27,000
Location: Medina, OH
Mileage: unknown
Title Status: Clean
VIN: 544630

Seller’s Description: My 84 yr old dad was restoring this vehicle but passed away suddenly at the Hardware store while buying some glue for a piece of wood needed near the windshield. He had purchased it about 2 years prior from a guy in WA and when it arrived, it was in pretty bad shape. I remember my dad was a little worried he wouldn’t be able to finish it.

Body Condition: It is in the process of being restored. He felt he had all the pieces and we feel we have found most of those pieces and they are all being sold with the car as a project car.

Mechanical Condition: The engine is rebuilt and runs. The transmission is in (I believe). The brakes and shocks are on the car.

Sorry about your Dad. The fact that he was restoring this car at 84 years of age is quite impressive. It looks like a worthwhile project.

Best of luck with the sale.

My condolences on the passing of your dad.

That being said, passing away in a hardware store, at his age, while buying parts for an ongoing project may be the way I would not mind leaving this mortal soil for the big project in the sky. A hardware store is one of my happy places.

I hope someone buys this, continues his journey on it and thinks of him.

I was wondering how many of the regular readers would like to leave this world while working on their restoration project? While living a good life and lasting 84 years is admirable, I personally can think of a lot of other things I’d like to be doing on the day I die other than shopping in a hardware store.
