Ready To Enjoy: 1969 Chevrolet Impala Convertible

This 1969 Chevrolet Impala Convertible has been owned by the same person for the past 33-years and has always lived in a garage. As a result, it remains in extremely nice condition and would be the perfect way to get out and enjoy the warmer weather. It is located in Americus, Georgia, and is listed for sale here on eBay. If you want to get your hands on a cool Summer cruiser, then the BIN price is $24,900, but there is the option to make an offer.

When I look this impala over, I rate its condition as being a really good driver-quality car. It is definitely better than average, but it isn’t so good that you would fret and worry every time that you took it out for a drive. The finish of the Dover White paint is very good, and there is no obvious rust to contend with. The soft-top also appears to be in good condition, and it has recently been treated to a new hydraulics and line kit, so it should raise and lower smoothly and easily.

Powering the Impala is the 350ci Turbo-Fire V8 engine, which produces 255hp. The car also features a Powerglide transmission, power steering, and power brakes. Under the skin is another place where the Impala has been given a recent birthday, with a new fuel tank, new exhaust, new tires, new brakes and a rebuilt transmission all on the list of completed work. The owner says that the Impala runs and drives well, and given the fact that it does see light use every week, this is no trailer queen.

The interior of the car is also quite good, with only some pretty minor wear and tear showing after 50-years. The kick panels are scuffed, but these could be restored. There is an aftermarket radio/cassette player fitted, along with speakers cut into the front door trims. There is also some noticeable wear on the wood-grain inserts in the front doors, but it’s nothing that I would lose too much sleep over at this point. These are issues that could all be addressed at some point, but they aren’t what I would term as urgent. In addition to the power top, you also get power windows and air conditioning that blows ice cold.

I quite like this Impala Convertible. The reason that I like it is because while it is in above average condition, it isn’t a trailer queen. This is a car that can be driven and enjoyed exactly as it currently stands. Some people love to get an old classic and work through the painstaking process of restoration. For whatever reason, that isn’t an option for other people. For that group of individuals, this Impala would be a great car to buy, own, and enjoy.

Nice, but not $24.9K nice! I would think $20K could buy it because the top looks like it will need to be replaced soon. I would enjoy driving it as is.

I like it, but it’s a bit too steep for $24K, considering what that will buy you for a newer droptop today.

Hopefully it will find a home for someone looking for a luxo-barge convertible.

Two things I don’t see: the cover for the convertible top along with having a picture of the top up. There’s one with it part way up, but nothing else. What I see looks pretty good but I don’t think IMO it’s worth the asking price.

There is a photo with the top up on the ebay ad. It’s red.

I’m going to be a supporter of this. I had a mustang convertible with ecoboost engine for a rental last week. I really liked it so I priced one. The build number on my mid-level rental was almost $40k, not really comparable. I get that it’s a much better car overall, but this chevy is clean, it all works, it has AC and looks like it could be reliable daily driver. In ten years, if it’s kept up, it will still be worth 24k, but not the mustang.

It’s an aggressive number, but I don’t think it’s wacky, given the cleanliness. Only negative is the powerglide, which would hurt highway cruising. Pay $20k for it and drive it all year round in a no-snow state.

I think it may be priced a bit too high, it’d be nice to see it with the top up. Pictures of the motor show the A.C. compressor minus its belt, I wonder how it blows ice cold ? could be a nice driver for 10K or even more less. The powerglide wouldn’t stop me from buying it, they were reliable transmissions.

My 65 galaxy 500 I’ve replaced the top twice!! No matter how much you care for your car they will wear out!! This is a really clean car!! However I really can’t say I believe it’s 24,900 nice!! The prices are either way out of sight or I’m not up with the times!!

Looks like a nice ride i see there is no vacuum line hooked up for the cruise control, and theA/C belt is missing. wonder if they work? But i would think $20,000 would be closer.

I am kind of surprised it doesn’t have a turbo hydramatic 3 speed. At this point, the powerglide was usually relegated to the low end smaller engine models.
