Everyone once in a while we come across a large collection of cars that are for sale. This one was sent to use by Chuck Foster and it is located near Pottsville, Pennsylvania. There are a number of Pontiacs and some newer vehicles. The cars are listed for sale here on Craigslist with prices for each. The cars are all said to be rust free and have been collected over the past 20 years. They are all stock and have been stored in a climate controlled garage.
There are three Pontiac Grand Prix’s for sale including a 1989 Grand Prix SE, 1989 McLaren Grand Prix Turbo and a 1990McLaren Grand Prix Turbo. The McLaren cars have turbocharged 3.8 liter V6 engines with sunroofs and lots of power options. The prices range from $7,000 to $15,000.
This 1986 Chevrolet IROC-Z has 68K miles and is red with gold accents. It is equipped with a 305 cubic inch TPI engine backed by an automatic transmission. The IROC has T-Tops, power options, air conditioning and tan deluxe interior. The seller is asking $15,000.
This 1989 Pontiac Bonneville SE has only 48K miles and is equipped with a 3.8 liter SFI V6 engine and lots of options. The car has a gray cloth interior and looks to be in excellent shape. The seller is asking $5,000.
A 1979 Pontiac Trans Am is listed for sale too that has 53,000 miles. The car is said to have a 400 cubic inch V8 engine and automatic transmission so it must not be original because Pontiac only equipped 400 cubic inch V8 engines with 4 speeds in 1979 and the car is not equipped with WS6 suspension which was required on all W72 400 cubic inch optioned Trans Ams in 1979. The car is said to also have a black leather interior which would have to be aftermarket too. The seller is asking $25,000. The other cars in the collection include a Nissan pickup, Mitsubishi Diamante, Buick station wagon, Jaguar XJR and Mercedes SL500 AMG.
Pottsville seems to be a gold mine for Pontiacs. I think the whole town drove Pontiacs back in the day.
John, you are incorrect on your statement that Pontiac only equipped the 400 cubic inch 1979 Trans Ams with 4 speeds. I’m positive because my wife own one with an automatic with the 403 6.5 liter V-8. Just an observation…..
Roger, I believe what he meant was that the 400ci engine was only offered with the 4 speed instead of an automatic. The automatic cars were of course mated with the 6.6L Olds 403ci
Bruce the 1989-1990 turbo grand prix’s were 3.1 liter with the garet turbos added on. 3.8’s weren’t in the GP till 1997.
I like the GP SE here nice color and the understated aero package is much better than later Pontiacs!
Dang.
The car I was most interested in, (Talon TSi) is the only one marked Sold!
Sold in the first 18hrs!
It sold in the first 18hrs!
I like this collectors style. Those Pontiacs are great, $5k for the 89 Bonneville…I mean why not? This first generation Diamantés were great looking cars also. Everything else speaks for itself.
I agree, the Bonnie looks like a steal for 5 grand. I even liked them when they were new.
That Bonneville is an SSE, not an SE.
I had an ‘88 Bonneville way back in 90/91
Have to say, it was the best GM sedan I ever owned.
3.8 was a great cruiser and got good mpg…
Only knock on it was the silver 80’s GM paint!
Lol
Always wanted the later model SSEI? Was it?
Why do some of the pictures show the cars with Palm trees? None of them in PA.
Been posted for 5 days and only one has sold.
I do not need another car. I do not need another car. I do not need another car.
Especially not a Bommeville SSE which I have wanted for 30 years. I do not need another car. Especially not a McLaren Turbo Gran Prix which I used to dream about while driving some POS japmobile.
Repeat to self. Put phone dow….
I want the Roadmaster but would pay only $6,000. They are getting rusty in the quarters as time marches on. Great car. Great gas mileage and I have plenty of NOS LT1 parts in my garage.
Palm Trees? Maybe the cars were photographed on some road trip to the southern states or purchased from an advertisement under palm tree? I live on the east coast and these are nice looking vehicles!
On November 6 of this Year 2021 my 16 year old nephew and his friend were outside of Wilkes-Barre pa.in a Pontiac grand am when the right tire dropped off the pavement onto the shoulder the driver over corrected the car shot across the road and into a ditch where it cartwheeled several times before coming to rest in a yard. The investigation estimated the speed at 130 mph both boys were taken to the hospital and walked out with only bumps and bruises. Regardless of what the boys were doing being young kids I say it says a lot about the safety and integrity of the pontiacs of this style
