1967 marked the first year for the 5th generation Ford pickup. For the past several years their values have grown steadily and they are now amongst the most popular of the F-Series trucks. Out of the hundreds of thousands of these trucks that were made, not very many were converted to full-time campers like this ’67 F-350 was. It can be found here on eBay with a buy-it-now price of only $5,500. According to the seller, this truck came out of California and is a nearly rust-free example of a 55-year-old truck. As you will see the camper needs a bit of attention, but the ad says it doesn’t have any leaks, which is a plus. Now located in Saugerties, New York, this truck is ready for a cool retro-camper build. If you’ve been looking for a cool old camper project, check this one out!
The seller doesn’t say much about the interior. You can see it features bucket seats, for obvious reasons. The dash appears to be mostly stock with an add-on HVAC system under the dash.
Here is the obvious reason for the bucket seats upfront. It is a really nice feature to have the cab of the truck open to the camper. Not only is this convenient for a family traveling together, but in a pinch, you could heat the camper with the truck heater.
There are several photos of the inside of the camper in the ad. You can tell the whole thing needs to be refreshed. The commode is pretty spacious but appears to need a full restoration as well. If this was my project, I’d be tempted to strip the entire inside of the camper and re-build it to my specifications. Modern appliances and LED lighting can be utilized for very efficient power usage. Modern building materials can have a solid-wood look with a ton of weight savings. Overall, this looks like a decent project, what do you think?
Wasn’t this one featured a while back?
wouldn’t be a bad one to have if/when the SHTF
at least you could keep it running
Interesting other items for sale. This looks rough to me, no engine photos.
Maintaining a truck-based class-c motorhome like this is so much more doable than with an older van-based class-c. Don’t even bother with an old class-a.
Cab over area probably needs work. It’s not shown in pictures, but you can see some buckling on the driver’s side and some lower buckling on the passenger side.
$5500? If it’s as good as claimed, I would “un-camper” it and turn it in to a conventional truck. Retro campers are cool, but that rig is strong with ick.
I’d love to find out what happens to this machine.
