Robo Wannabe: 1992 Ford Taurus SHO

I am not sure what is happening here! It looks like someone decided to turn their Taurus SHO into a Robocop styled police car. I’m not sure if it was meant to be a show car or a LeMons racer, but they did a ton of work to it. I wouldn’t say I like the custom work, but the SHO is a brilliant machine! With a starting price of $300, this could turn out to be the perfect LeMons car. It’s cheap, fast and incredibly goofy looking. If you’d like to have this Ford, you can find it here on eBay in Berlin, Wisconsin.

The Yamaha built V6 that powers this SHO is the thing dreams are made of! It isn’t the most powerful engine by any means, but 220 horsepower isn’t too bad and this thing loves to rev. Paired to the Mazda built 5 speed, this thing would do quite well on the track.

I know this find isn’t all that old and the customization work will be hard to reverse, but if you’ve been on the look out for a LeMons car or an affordable project that will one day be a collectible, I don’t think you can go wrong with a SHO. This is one of only a small handful of front wheel drive cars I would be excited to own, but I’m just not sure about this one’s futuristic add-ons. So are you a SHO fan and do you think this one has a future as a street car or is it destined to just be a beater track car?

Nah, it”s a staircase for small people so that they can clean the windscreen.

    • Jeffro

I actually spit my drink on my phone after reading that! And then imagined a Oompa Loompa running up front to wash the windshield. Yeah…I’m going to hell for that.

I would get the escalator to work so you can fix the gum ball on the roof! 2nd floor is probably damaged goods or overruns !!

I’m only interested if the added-on panels and other stuff aren’t made of cardboard that’s been spray painted flat black. If they’ll outlast a serious rainstorm I’m in.

I wanted to say it was a movie car, made for Demolition Man, Back to the Future or Blade Runner. But those cars fly and are more futuristic. Whatever movie it was, it was made after 1992 if in fact it was a movie car. Be kinda cool to learn the story behind it.
