If you don’t know what a Vista Cruiser is, look closely at the glass in the rear roof of this wagon. An Oldsmobile feature, although I think it appeared on some Buicks also, the raised roof and extra windows added some pizazz to the family wagon, and gave the kids in the back something else to look at as the family cruised down the road. This one is located in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada although it spent most of it’s life in Florida, and it’s up for sale here on eBay with a buy-it-now of $8,000 but lower offers are welcome. I would want to see some more pictures before bidding, especially anything close to the buy-it-now price, but it does have the desired third row seats as well as new brakes and power steering. I think I see some corrosion along the sills, but I think it would be presentable to drive for a while (although I’d match the tires as quickly as I could afford to). The seller says 69,000 miles–it might be 169, but we’d need to see more pictures to nudge that one way or the other.

Room With A View: 1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser

I had a 67 Vista Cruiser that I found, I know, this term is over used, but I truly found it in an old farmer’s barn. He had bought it new, along with all the factory service/shop manuals and drove it until he had a whopping 57k miles on it, then parked it in 73 when he bought the “next one.” It was a 330c.i. 2-barrel turbo 400 & 12-bolt posi. I drove that car well past 100k miles before I gave it up to the next owner who “just had to have it.” And, yes, Buick had the sister model called Sport Wagon.
excited to see this car is currently in the town I live :) My mom had the same colour vista.
I swear, this one looks right off the set of That 70’s Show. I think that one was a 1969 though…
My uncle had a ’71 VC with the 455. Big as it was it not only hauled stuff but hauled a** too!
Buick’s version was called a Sport Wagon. Always wanted to put a Pontiac front clip on one of these!
listing has ended. i love wagons but there are a lot of nice ones in this price range or lower. interesting find.
I had a 71 Vista. Ended up a parts car years ago. Was fun while it lasted. Like the Pontiac idea mentioned above. I’m a wagon guy so I would at least look at this if it was closer and the money was available. I suggest a web style or maybe a rally 350 wagon.
This is now listed on Kijiji at $6900.00

I have heard these are hard to air condition because of the heat gain from the transparent roof. Is that true?
Looks like the car Clark traded in for the Family Truckster in Vacation.
