After we did a story on a wrecking yard in Tennessee that was liquidating a large number of cars, reader Hurley C made the hour drive from his home to have a look. He took lots of photos while he was exploring the place and thought some of you might want to see what’s left. As noted before, most of these cars are parts cars, but there are a few cars that would be worth restoring. Just don’t plan on buying the Corvair Rampside, Hurley already purchased it!
The craigslist ad has been flagged for removal, but Hurley was there just on Saturday, so chances are most of the cars in his photos are still available. Getting a hold of the seller to buy something will take a bit more work with the ad down now. You can have a look at Jeff B’s original story about this yard here. Hopefully Hurley can provide us with the yard’s contact info in the comment section. Our thanks to him for sending us so many photos! And be sure to wish him luck with his Rampside!
If anyone needs contact info just shoot me an email hotrodhoss77@gmail.com be glad to get you info!
Good effort on this one Hurley, thanks for updating us!!
2 nice mid-60s Pontiac two doors.
’53 or ’54 chevrolet sedan interior shot wish there was picture of the rest of it.
There is my friend
What is the address to the junkyard in Tennessee. Or a phone number will do. Hit me up 504-905-1151.
Wow there are a lot of nice project trucks in those pics but my fav. has got to be that green El Camino. I would love to find something like that to play with.
Brian, I’ve got a red and white 77 El Camino Classic for sale if you’re interested, it’s got the white swivel bucket seat interior and it’s currently my daily driver, problem is it’s in Australia and yes it’s still LHD.
Not too expensive but the shipping would be the killer.
Damn I love El Camino’s but you just can’t find any in good shape in Ontario Canada. They all have rotten frames or 50 pounds of bondo on them and the owners want $10,000 for them.
Brian, mine came out of Washington state, absolutely no rust or Bondo and the tray isn’t bent to hell either. Go on give me call you know you want to !
I’ve never shipped a car but I bet it would cost more then the car from Australia. Thanks
We pay between 3 and 5 grand for shipping but the cars are worth more here, buyers can’t get enough of them.
That Buick wagon.. may be too far gone, but what a gorgeous cruiser. Hope someone with the pockets saves it.
Hurley, were any of the Mercedes or the Porsche 944 still there when you visited?
There was one Mercedes no 944
Wow!
Whoa, mama, give me the Autocar camper!!! ( might be a little loud)
In these situations, I always wonder how many offers for cars or parts were turned down over the years….. and now, just a bunch of rusted garbage.
Hurley,
Any pics of the car to the left of the Corvair? Looks like a 69 Toyota Corona in yellow like I owned back in college.
I’d love to see more of the Autocar Camper! I wonder what they’re asking, and if it runs…
Need the Scout. Wonder if the floors are solid
To the people wondering why the Cord was modified, here is your answer.
Most look to have solid bodies , just surface rust, but, with no details, probably need more work than their worth . some would have liked back in the day.. the 68 Country Sedan, and the 62 Catalina 4 dr for ex. Sunbaked old cars if only, if only!
As far as I’m concerned nothing but a pile of junk
Jeff Lavery….there is a nice looking Red 944 that is in good shape in my town Paducah Ky.. if you are interested? he wants 2500 for it….says it needs a transaxle to be driveable? dont know how hard those are to find but maybe you know? gonna post a pic for ya…hit me up if you want the info??
this is the interior pic of the 944
The light blue 2 door 54 chevy looks to be a very rare business sedan . The rear side window looks like it has a rubber gasket all the way around meaning the window doesn’t roll down and the car would have come with no back seat . If it is a real business sedan it could be one of very few left .
