This little pickup isn’t a barn find, but it sure looks like a fun driver! It belongs to one of our readers and they are currently relocating so all the extra cars have to go. We already featured their wagon and although we would really like to drag that thing home, this is probably a better option for most of us. There are a few areas that need attention, but overall this Model A should provide anyone with a fun and affordable entry into hot rod ownership. Find it here on eBay out of Lake Worth, Florida.
Power is provided by a 350 V8. Although not the most exotic option for a hot rod, it is an easy to fix and easy to afford option. There’s a Mustang II front end under there with disc brakes. These type of changes may seem simple, but you can save yourself a lot of work and headaches by buying a vehicle like this where all the major dirty work is already done.
The black and red interior works here. I’d probably want to tone things down a bit in here though. The blue tint would have to go immediately and I might scrape the stickers off the dash and paint it black. That’s the beauty of a custom car like this though – you can feel free to make it your own!
Again, I would probably turn things down a notch or two on the outside too. I’d lose any parts with flames, iron crosses, or skulls on them in order to give this puppy more of a period look. That’s just me though. I’m sure the next owner will have their own idea of what should be done and that’s exactly how it should be!
I would put the fenders back on.
Neat old truck…wish it was closer…should be in my shed…
If you put the short accessory drive system on the front of the motor, IE: short water pump, aft mounted alternator etc, you could remount the radiator and headlamp bar back it it’s original location. That would improve the looks of that classic front end. Just sayin’.
