Dodge resurrected the Coronet nameplate in 1965 and applied it to their mid-size B-body products. The Coronet 440 was middle-of-the-pack in terms of trim, and the seller’s project or parts car from 1967 may be an odd duck. It’s a convertible, but instead of a V8 under the hood, a Slant-Six is there along with a “3-on-the-tree” manual gearbox. Perhaps sitting for ages, this non-running Mopar resides in North Plains, Oregon, and is available here on craigslist for $1,295. Once again, Mitchell G. comes through with the tips.

Changes were few to the 1967 Coronet from the 1966 editions. The venerable 225 cubic inch Slant-Six was still the standard engine, though most buyers stepped up to V8s ranging from 318 to 440 CI in displacement. The seller’s car is odd to me in that I’m guessing a six-banger Coronet 440 convertible was a loner on some dealer’s lot. This Dodge managed to travel nearly 100,000 miles before the odometer broke. The motor is stuck, so the machine has been sitting, waiting for rust to take over nearly everywhere.

The seller provides an honest description of the car’s shortcomings, which include corrosion in the subframe that causes the front end of the 440 to nosedive. We’re told the glass is good, but the windows will not move. Even the dashboard is rusty, and the condition of the ragtop probably lets Mother Nature have her way with the interior (some of it is missing, too).

As a project, the Slant-Six is a further disadvantage. So perhaps it will better serve as a donor as the seller suggests. There are no working brakes, so loading the vehicle onto a trailer may be a bit tricky. The seller is willing to do a trade, especially if you have a good car trailer, hydraulic dump trailer, camp trailer, toy hauler, or some other covered transport.

Something is wrong with the price. Either it should be $12.95, or he’s willing to pay someone $1,295 to haul this POS off his property. Other than that, a nice write-up on a backlot find.
This is one uniquely optioned Dodge. A drop top with a Slant 6 and 3 speed on the column. There can’t be too many like that. I have to admit, the opening photo looks like someone planked the brake pedal and someone quick took a photo as it came to a stop. Maybe Im wrong….. But I’m thinking that this one is just simply too far gone.
Even for $1,295 near a large metropolitan area it’s still on the market after 15 days, that highlights the level of interest. The 6 cylinder and 3spd don’t add any monetary value. This is a parts car and not a very good one.

Looks like the slant is towards the front.
Hey, I had this for breakfast this morning with my eggs. (Toast)
Not even good for parts. Just too far gone back to nature.
Dixon it’s another 1-800-the-hook 🛻🪝
When those Mopar subframes go, they create a really nice early 70’s rake to these cars,
Somewhere, there’s a 1967 Coronet R/T hardtop that’s about to become a convertible.
Ouch. Poor thing is melting into the ground.
Unless someone has specific parts needs like windshield trans clutch pedals convertible top mechanism this is a complete pile of junk
That is a bad to the bone stance! I’d fix the mechanicals and go cruising all day Sunday!
That’s a bad to the bone stance! I’d clean up the unique mechanicals and go cruising on Sunday in my “Sunday Best” patina!
I’m afraid that you wouldn’t get very far with the suspension rotted off of it.
Looks like a worthless “Joe Dirt” edition😂
Ruff said the dog 🐕
RUN!!!
Drop Top…and….Drop Nose!
So sad people let them get this way. It should have been given to some young enthusiastic person years ago?
Torsion bar rear anchors are rusted out. That’s all you need to know about this one.
looks like David Spade took Chris Farley on a road trip with this one.
$8.00 per hundred with fluids drained from it. get scooped off the trailer by the jaws of death and get paid and this convert won’t hurt anybody again. scrap is all it worth. real shame
What was that ad with the mother and son in a Mopar….. “The torsionbobbers for the super suspension…” Looks like someone backed off on the torsion bar adjusting bolts.
They put these up for laffs. It worked!
