Listed here on craigslist out of Hillsboro, Oregon, this 1969 GMC ¾-ton pickup looks like a great starting point for someone who wants a classic truck they can enjoy right away and improve over time. The seller says it runs strong, has a clean title, and comes with the original owner’s manual, window sticker, and vehicle history report, rare finds for a workhorse like this. Thanks for the tip Curvette!

Under the hood, this GMC is powered by a V8 paired with an automatic transmission, and the odometer reportedly shows just under 55,000 miles. The seller notes that the truck runs and drives well, starts easily, and sounds great. It’s been maintained by a professional mechanic’s shop in Hillsboro with a recent full inspection, tune-up, fresh fluids, and a new battery. According to the seller, it earned an “A+” after inspection and has been driven occasionally just to keep it in good running shape.

The photos show a straight, mostly solid truck with a little clear coat fade and flash rust but nothing alarming. The green paint has what the seller calls “good patina,” and that fits, it’s the kind of finish that tells a story rather than hiding one. The body appears straight and all steel, with only minor signs of wear and age.

Inside, it’s dirty but complete, and not beyond easy cleanup. The seats and dash look like they’ve survived the decades well, and all the stock knobs and gauges are still present. The shift lever shows a bit of surface rust, and the floors could use a detail, but there’s nothing here that would scare away a restorer. Dual gas tanks have been added for convenience, and the custom wheels shown look to be in good shape.

The seller describes the truck as both a solid foundation for a restoration and something that could easily be enjoyed as-is with minimal work, perhaps just a deep clean and some light mechanical attention. With its clean paperwork, original parts, and running condition, this ’69 GMC looks like an honest, usable vintage pickup that won’t break the bank.

Would you give this GMC a full restoration, or leave the patina and drive it proudly just as it is?

You are right. There is no good reason to do so. I have not signed up for Facebook so those links won’t open, many good deals on Craigslist sell and are deleted by the seller prior to the feature being shown to non members. That likely won’t be the case with this truck, $7,900 is really stiff for a 3/4 ton long bed in this condition.

I retired at the first of the year, I finally decided to sign up for Facebook. Now I’m in Facebook jail for some reason. Not worth the trouble or effort to try to resolve. They’re the ones missing out, not us!
I agree. It’s kind of annoying.
you now need a live video selfie to get a F/B account. i said forget. all i wanted to do was try to sell some parts. not worth it
The site gets paid for clicks. They want you to click the link.
I wish we got paid for an the clicks we send to Craigslist and Facebook!!!
Why, oh why, oh why don’t sellers get the idea that a nice full side view, including the bed in this case, would enhance the ad and perhaps sellability? So often lots of closeup and no overall picture.
Four essentially the same pictures of the front really help though….cough.
These were sought after by hog farmers in my neighborhood. The hogs didn’t slide around on the wood in the bed when they hauled them into town. Therefore, these are hard to find around here. This looks pretty good.
