Among muscle cars, there are endless special editions. From sticker kits to actual high-performance upgrades, American manufacturers know that a “limited edition” Mustang or Camaro will prove fairly popular among brand loyalists. However, the lines can become blurred or downright murky if it becomes difficult to ascertain what is truly an upgrade versus what is simply cosmetic dress-up. We’re asking Barn Finds detectives to help us on this SN95-era Ford Mustang that is labeled as a Steeda build to determine what exactly it received for upgrades from the well-known Mustang tuner. Find the car here on eBay with a Buy-It-Now of $3,999.

The SN95 Mustang is one of the cheaper points of entry to V8 Mustang ownership. Though somewhat unloved, it’s still a solid buy as a muscle car available with a conventional 5-speed manual and V8 power. Upgrades via the aftermarket are endless and you can also raid the factory parts bin for Cobra-specific enhancements. Values are not very high at the moment for even the best of the bunch in SN95 land, so be careful not to overpay. This car, Steeda-connections aside, is tired cosmetically with heavily faded paint and some light damage in the form of a busted turn signal.

More about the Steeda connection: there was a supercharged SN95 offered by Steeda, and it was well-documented in popular magazines at the time. Typically, a genuine Steeda car will come with a serial number or plaque of some kind that confirms it was breathed on by Steeda at some point in its history. There is this badge right behind the shifter, which appears to be the genuine article. But what, then, are the enhancements? From what we can see, there are floor mats, a decal kit, and some stickers on the exterior, but not much else that designates this a limited-production, high-performance build.

Is it possible the Steed supercharger was yanked at some point? The engine bay appears stock aside from a cold air intake. If you Google the worre “Steeda SN95,” you can see the seller was asking followers on Facebook and Instagram to help verify the identity of this car, but it doesn’t appear anyone was successful in confirming what, exactly, they had on their hands. This Mustang is selling cheap at the moment for a clear title V8 car, so it seems the seller isn’t demanding a premium for a vehicle with unknown pedigree. What do you suppose the Steeda connection is on the project-grade Mustang GT?

It has already been SOLD!
At that price, I believe it!
From the condition of that interior, such as the wear in the seats, the mileage claim seems hard to believe. The condition of the exterior doesn’t help matters.
Anyhow, Steeda offered the G/Trac suspension package (offered in stages of various components), intakes, fuel system mods, short throw shifters and of course, styling parts/decals. They even offered supercharged versions. They built some nice packages. The Steeda 6 package for the 3.8 cars was pretty cool. The cars weren’t fast but handled amazing.
The price was seemingly right for this one. It’s the 8th out of how many……well, I’m not sure anyone definitely knows. Because they modified cars, their numbers aren’t very accurate.
Great car. Hope someone saves it and gets it back to its hey day. If they keep it as Steeda modded it, it will certainly be a conversion piece at cars & coffee.
