Stored Since 2001: 1995 Acura Integra GSR

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

When it comes to 1990s and 2000s imports, the Acura Integra GSR is one of the foremost examples of an iconic hot hatch. While the Type R is the granddaddy of them all, the GSR wasn’t that far off in its execution, featuring a high-strung B18C1 four-cylinder making 170 horsepower and triggering the magical phase known at VTEC at 4,400 RPM. The trouble is, you can’t find one of these that hasn’t been poorly modified, stolen, raced, or usually, all three. That’s why it’s of little surprise to learn that this minty and bone-stock 1995 GS-R has been in storage since 2001, safe from the perils of teenage drivers and car thieves. Find it here on eBay with a Buy-It-Now of $9,000 and the option to submit a best offer.

The Integra isn’t perfect, but when it comes to finding one of these cars free from any modifications, beggars can’t be choosers. The seller points out that the previous owner used the Integra extensively, driving it all over the country and racking up 165,000 miles. Now, that’s not much stress on a drivetrain found in a 1990s Acura/Honda product, but the seller still had to address a variety of maintenance issues that led to the Integra being parked in the first place. A tired clutch led to the original owner parking it and planning to freshen up the Integra on a rainy day, but the refurb work never happened until the current owner happened upon it.

The interior is in very good condition for any car with over 160K on the clock, and while the black leather driver’s seat show some wear, you can definitely live with it as-is. Even the factory floor mats are in surprisingly nice shape. The Acura was owned by a non-smoker and no issues are known inside the car, as even all the power and convenience features still work as designed. Seeing an Integra from this era that doesn’t have a set of PepBoys-branded knock-off Sparco seats inside is a treat for the eyes, and hopefully, the next owner will preserve its bone-stock condition. The backseat looks practically unused.

The high-strung four-cylinder is a treat for the senses if you enjoy wringing cars out, as this one begins to sing when other motors shut down. The seller has addressed a deep list of deferred maintenance, including a new clutch, front and rear brake pads and rotors, both rear brake calipers, left and right rear compensator arms, and both front struts. Due to the fuel was not treated before going into storage, the seller had to replace the fuel tank, fuel pump, and level sending unit before firing up the car following its long-term hiatus. The listing describes the price as firm, but then there’s the option to make a best offer, so there’s a chance the seller is open to a conversation for this unmolested Integra GSR.

This one walks a very fine line of being a potential bargain while also being a high mileage rust bucket. I had an opportunity to buy one with no rust and half the mileage for $6K less than three years ago, so maybe nobody should care what I think. The funny thing is that they guy put it on BaT(poorly presented) and it didn’t meet reserve.

I don’t see this one in the BaH archives.

The one I had an opportunity to buy was on BAT. It was poorly presented, low mileage, and sort of a periwinkle color; if you want to look for the auction.
