Super Cheap Shell: 1963 Porsche 356

This isn’t a shell game, but it is a shell. That is all that is left of this 1963 Porsche 356B Twin Grille. There are no dials to indicate miles. It does have a clean title but no registration. The car is located in Arlington, Massachusetts and the current bid price is a massive $56.00 with no reserve. The listing is on eBay.

It is almost easier to list what the car has than what it does not. The few things the car does have are a steering box, a few fuses, fuel tank, and fuel door, and the front end is still onboard. That completes the list. Minor non-technical things are part of the car are a door tag and bulkhead stamp. The VIN stamp is not on the car.

There is nothing inside the car. No seats or gauges. It does not have a floor either, which really is the main reason why no seats are in the car. It has been left to rust and rot away for years. No information is listed as to how long it has been decaying away in the elements.

The seller has been toting the car around his property using a makeshift trailer, which they are willing to part with if you buy the car, but they say it is not road worthy. There might not be much you can do with this car. It could be a donor for a part or two. My idea would be to put it on a bug frame, but that might be absolute blaspheme.

The Porsche people would hate the bug idea but I like it. Is there really enough left to restore? When do you give up? It’s up to $750 so someone thinks something’s there.

Well north of 2,000 now. I predict it will break into the five figures.

I agree, its a “shell of a mess”.
No need to take it to the back-40 and shoot it, it’s dead already.

I normally don’t post on foreign vehicles because I haven’t owned but one Toyota Tundra but this one he would have to pay me to haul it away.

Someone did push it back into the woods and it did die…..

Seems to me, there’s plenty of better 356’s out there, why buy this trash? This will cost a fortune to rebuild.

Put this in an art gallery around the New York city area , attach a $50,000 price tag on it. Then stand back watch folks figure a reason why they need this in their home.

Might have to cut it half first, I like your thinking.

Cutting it in half, costs too much. If its aluminum convert into a beer can. If its steel, maybe a real solid hockey puck.

Personally, I like the idea of turning the body around on the trailer and putting a steel floor in it and using it as a trailer. Would love to see the looks of people when leaving Lowes with 2x4s sticking out the back window!

Oh Adam, just looking at your yard makes me lament about all the oxygen that was lost making all that rust. You really need to plant a bunch of trees to make up for it, you are doing that, right? After all, even Porsche lovers need to breath. And, as we all know, we need oxygen to combine with free hydrogen after cellular respiration to form water so we can pee. You do pee, right Adam?

Billy, I didn’t make that rust, nothing stays in my yard for more than a year, we move em in, and move em out, that pic was taken about 4 years ago, I bet very few of those cars are there today. This is the same section, shot from the other side, in January of this year, all different.

Adam, do you have permission from adjacent neighbors for all those cars? EPA compliance with leaks into the soil and all? Check for wasp nests regularly? Remember that guy from Michigan last year? Don’t want to happen what went down with him. Neighbors can be so pesky with old cars just laying about, esp. in upscale northern New York. Tell me at least you have a fence.

We are on a dead end street and our only neighbors are the cops, and Satan Cycles, and we are zoned Heavy Industrial.

Emory Motorsports Mc McMinnville, OR , takes cars this bad and turns them into 356 Outlaws. This rustbucket will fetch ridicules money before its over and done.

Rod Emory takes nice 356’s and turns them into outlaw’s, not horrid rust buckets. I know, I sell cars to Rod.

This has got to be the worst rust-bucket Porsche seen here yet. Someone would have to be desperate for the two questionable parts still attached to this carcass to buy it. Stranger things have happened though.

This is only here to perpetrate a fraud of some sort. The title and VIN will go to some other car, obviously there is nothing here of value. A door handle? What else? That is what this insane rise in values has caused, dishonesty. Down below it is listed that the next door neighbor to Adam’s place is Satan Cycles. Perhaps Satan has something to do with the sale of old Porsches too.

25 bids and over $2000 at the moment. So far 25 strange people have ideas on which New York city art gallery it’s going to be” hanging ” out at. I got to start hanging out in my local forest’s a little more it appears.

I say cube it than push it into a corner in your garage. You’d still be able to brag that you own a 356 Porsche and it wouldn’t take up a lot of space.

Somewhere at home I have a keychain with a small piece of Glacier Girl, the P-38 Lightning that was dug out of the ice in Greenland… that’s all I got, chop it up & sell it as a bits-o-356 fundraiser. Update from around noon today (the 4th) says he had to cancel some bids & it’s back down to $1,525.
