This truck is really clean and has a great history. It is a 1966 Chevrolet C10 pickup that is for sale here on eBay with bids up to $10,800. There are four days left in the auction and the reserve has not been met. The seller has a Buy It Now price of $16,000. The truck was purchased and spend most of its life in northeast Texas and is currently located in Fouke, Arkansas.
The truck was originally owned by Bill Farmer in Texarkana, Texas who was a well known mechanic. He was friends with the local judge and installed a police scanner in the truck to help with local problems. The truck shows 62,000 on its odometer and retains its original 250 cubic inch straight six engine. Even the original oil bath air cleaner is still on the truck. As a bonus, the truck has a three speed manual transmission and air conditioning.
The seller has tuned and cleaned up the truck. New brakes, radiator, heater core, blower motor, belts and hoses were recently installed. Mr. Farmer’s original sideboards are included in the truck along with new wheels and tires. The only rust is on the lower front fender. Mr. Farmer’s son inherited the truck but he passed away and his wife sold it to the current owner.
There were a lot of C10 pickups built over the years but this version is probably the most iconic. This body style and hood were produced from 1963-1966. This truck is said to drive and run great and has been taken out on the highway. For such minimal rust and the condition, I would expect this truck to sell for $12,000 to $15,000. What do you think?
Very nice find. Like the red one earlier, this was as basic a truck as you could get, and sold for about $2,100 dollars new. I’d get rid of all that antique radio crap, unless that does something for you, big waste of valuable inside space and the a/c unit, that looks like it would cool an office building, will drag down the motor some, but a great example of what gramps drove off the lot in 1966.
Even though this isn’t as shiny as the red stepside featured on this site a few days ago. I’d much rather have this one. It doesn’t matter one bit to me that this one has faded paint and has some sunburning on the horizontal surfaces, it looks to be a nice honest truck.

That looks like an oil bath air filter. They were still using them in 1966?
Very likely. My 90k mile ‘65 C10 SWB with It’s OG 292 Inline has an oil bath air cleaner on it and it’s listed on the factory build sheet. I’m ‘somewhat’ envious as this truck has a jack and an inside rear view mirror – both of which mine was ordered without – although I do have two visors and a left side armrest! :-)
Out west, oil bath air cleaners were commonplace until the end of the 60s.

Another fine throwback to life when I was a pimply-faced teenager, 15 going on 41. I agree with Howard in that the police scanner has got to go. Maybe keep the A-C although I was never thrilled by those under-dash units. The old reliable ‘TWO BY SIXTY’ A-C units that they came from the factory with weren’t all that bad. Well, I had the ’49 Chevy out for a blast last weekend and it was 94 outside with around 80% humidity. That FOUR BY FIFTY A-C left something to be desired.
Are there more compact AC units available?
I understand that Vintage Air offers a nice compact unit that will easily fit into the dash of one of these trucks. I’ve never installed one so I cannot tell you what it is like but I’ve heard a lot of good things…
I agree with others in that I would much rather have this than the red one. What a sweetheart!
