By 1999, the Chevrolet Corvette was headed back in the right direction in terms of performance, with the 5.7-liter engine delivering a respectable 345 horsepower in bone-stock form. This seems like a decent amount of pep for most drivers at the turn of the century, but somebody decided this one needed some extra boost, and there’s a nice surprise under the hood waiting for the next owner to enjoy. Barn Finds reader Mitchell G. spotted this beautiful C5 here on Craigslist in Cave Creek, Arizona, and we’d like to thank him for sending in the tip here! All things considered, the asking price of $16,900 might not be an unreasonable amount to ponder paying here.

While a Corvette isn’t a car I’d normally consider calling a sleeper, this one sort of falls into that category, as there aren’t many outside clues that it’s anything other than a nicely preserved stock example. The blue paint is stated as original and appears to match the seller’s description that it remains in great condition. It’s also mentioned that the top hasn’t spent much time off, so the rubber in this area is still good, and there are no leaks. Spending all its downtime in a garage has also helped preserve this one nicely, and I’m not spotting any issues to point out with the exterior.

Lifting the hood is when it becomes clear that this is no ordinary C5, as an A&A supercharger system has been added, along with Kooks headers and an exhaust system from Corsa. A&A specializes in providing superchargers for the C5 through C7 eras and boasts on its website that, while some manufacturers have stopped supporting the C5, it continues to improve parts from this generation and develop new ones. The exact HP number isn’t revealed here, but the seller says it has a ton of power, with these performance improvements costing nearly $11k in total. There’s even a new battery present!

This one is also reported to still look like new inside, with the interior described as all original and in the condition I’d expect to find in a well-cared-for 54,000-mile vehicle. Another reassuring statement is that the seller says this car is senior-owned and hasn’t been abused, and I hope the next owner will not only continue to preserve the original features but also properly maintain and look after the mechanical components as well. Any thoughts to share about this supercharged 1999 Chevrolet Corvette?

In the ’90s the Corvettes got their “Mogo” back with their looks and engines. This is one good looking car with an engine any Corvette fan would drool all over.
Try “mojo”. It will make more sense.
