Zero Rust Cheyenne: 1976 Chevy C10

Sometimes, the colors just make the truck. This 1976 Chevrolet C10 pickup is one such example, wearing a tick over 100,000 miles and an awesome period paint scheme of green over pistachio.  There’s nothing super exotic here beyond an attractive truck that hasn’t been abused, as this is otherwise your standard 3/4 ton, two-wheel drive workhorse that is powered by a 350 and automatic transmission. Find it here on eBay with bids to $4,550 and the reserve unmet.

The Chevy features the longer bed design and a single cab. While the short bed is the hot ticket looks-wise, you can certainly cram more junk into the back of one of these. The Chevy looks sharp with matching chrome bumpers front and rear, and steel wheels on what look nice fairly fresh tires. Paint is original with the exception of the hood, which the seller notes was redone and isn’t a perfect match. Note the old-school California blue plates still affixed, and the smaller sport-style mirrors.

The interior isn’t perfect but looks very respectable with woodgrain insets in the door panels, clean carpeting, and a nice dash with a woodgrain insert on the passenger side. It’s hard to tell from here, but the dash doesn’t appear to be cracked and the steering wheel isn’t showing a ton of wear. Always nice to see nicely aged and matching paint inside the door jambs and along the perimeter of the door, and the seller notes the seat cover is hiding a worn bench seat that still has plenty of life.

The 350 / 3-speed automatic drivetrain configuration isn’t anything fancy, but it will always sound good and get the job done while not being costly to maintain. Despite wearing over 100,000 miles, the engine bay looks quite fresh and the seller notes it starts with ease, even when cold. Power steering and power disc brakes make turning and stopping a breeze, and other than needing a new exhaust, no significant mechanical woes are noted. If the reserve is met, the next owner will also get a clean title with the truck. Thanks to Barn Finds reader local_sheriff for the find.

Body is like my Dad’s, but this one is in a lot better condition. Dad had his on the farm and hauled animals and feed in it while he was farming. They retired about 10 years after buying the pickup so it started having the ‘good life’ and rusting. The cab and box on Dad’s rusted out bad so ultimately it was scrapped.
This one looks pretty good overall, if it’s as solid as it looks then it could be a good driver.

    It has 8 lug axles. It’s not a c10.

C10 was the 1/2 ton model. 3/4 ton was the C20.

It doesn’t have 8 lug axles, just the 8 lug phony hubcaps.

This IS a C20 3/4 ton truck, so it would have 8 lug axles and rims. These hub caps and rims are from a 1988 or newer 3/4 ton truck.

Lol the seller screwed up the headline, then described it as a 3/4 ton C20. And that’s definitely a 20 on the fender badge.

Is there such a thing as a zero rust Squarebody?

I like the colors on this, but it needs the original wheels and tires installed. IMO, these later model rims look goofy.

Keep ’em coming, BF’s, mine gets more valuable with every posting. I’d say this is about right for a clean one like this. Mine is not near this clean, but still very usable, now that I replaced everything. With a rebuilt carb ( $286 bucks) the mileage on the highway jumped to low teens and drives much better. Very nice truck here.

That is a nice looking truck Howard!
I like this green truck, even with the incorrect wheels & hubcaps. With a little interior work, this could be a nice truck.
