12 MGs And The Domino’s Pizza DeLorean!

Dominos DeLorean

Here’s a huge package deal for someone! The seller has been playing with MGs for 20 years so there’s a ton of spare parts to go with the 12 cars. There’s also a Corvette and a Porsche included with the sale. The one that caught my eye though was a orange, white, and blue DeLorean that was owned by the original owner of Domino’s Pizza! It was apparently used in some marketing, but I wasn’t able to find anything online. Anyone remember seeing it back in the eighties? Anyway, the seller would like to unload the whole lot here on eBay for $59,500 or best offer. Thanks goes to Jim S. for the tip!

Looking at the questions from interested parties the DeLorean is the jewel in the collection. The Corvette and the DeLorean are the only two that I would have any interest in. Those two represent half the asking price but I can’t get to the rest of it with all the other cars.

The 924 appears to be a turbo model, but it doesn’t much matter if it’s got rod knock.

I wonder how many pizzas he would take for the DeLorean?

None, The car was a show car, they would bring it out, put the delivery signs on it in front of a new store opening up. How do I know this, I worked a s a delivery driver for a few months between good jobs, they brought it out when the Flat River Store opened up, we had one in Farmington, and that owner opened the other one. They even had the NOID come out for the day. The car was delivered on a trailer unloaded, and when the week was over, it was loaded back on the trailer and it was gone. The store is still there though!!!!

What a great find and it would be interesting to hear how it turns out. The C4 Corvetts, 924s and DeLorean have never been worth much. Is that changing? The DeLoreans frame rusts away. I have a really nice C4 convertable I can’t hardly give away. But the MGBs should be really interesting to lots of folks. Are there really $60,000 worth of cars here?

Tell us about your C4 convertible that you can’t give away. What year and what transmission?

I can’t see it. Lots of MGs, none from the ’60s but and a lot from the ’80s, which are the least desirable unless you want to do a lot of V8 swaps. A Porsche 924, probably the least desirable Porsche ever made. And then you would likely be moving them out of Arkansas to somewhere else—-a BIG job. This would occupy your time and effort for a long time to come. I’d use the $60K to buy a few cars that I’d really want to own.

The Delorean advertising car is an interesting tidbit, but has no real desirability unless you are into these cars and nothing else. Tom Monaghan owned Dominos and was featured in some of the car mags back when he still owned the company because he collected Duesenbergs. I think the Delorean was just an advertising gimmick back when they were getting a lot of attention in the news.

wonder if the motor home is for sale, and the murray riding lawn mower (for a tow car) are for sale. I’m not to far from Mtn. Home Ark.
