Driving a vehicle 265 miles a year isn’t a lot. Per year, not per week or even per month. It’s hard to believe there are cars like this 1977 Chrysler Cordoba still hidden out there in the world, ones with only 12,700 miles on the odometer after 48 years. There must be, Zappenduster found this one and sent it in as a tip, thanks! It’s posted here on craigslist in Kennett, Missouri, they’re asking $10,000, and here is the original listing.
I wish the seller had loaded more than just seven photos, but at least there are three of them in horizontal format… Still, I’m always disappointed when there are so few photos, especially when it’s such a nice car and you’d think they would want to load as many as possible to show it off. I’m preaching to the choir, again, sorry. And clearly it’ll never change so I don’t know why I mention it almost every time.
As they say, it is what it is, and what it is, this is one super nice-looking car! The optional “chrome-styled road wheels” are a nice touch and give the luxurious Cordoba a sporty look, or as much as possible. The seller says the factory undercoating is still on the underside, this was a garage-kept vehicle, and it’s like new. I believe it. The Landau vinyl top with opera windows and lights is another nice touch for a car from this era.
As nice as the exterior is, I think the interior may be even nicer. I would have guessed that this was the “all-vinyl” seating surface option, but maybe it actually is the famous Corinthian Leather of legend? Corinthian Leather seems softer, wrinklier, and more Corinthian’ier. They’re bucket seats so it must be leather of some sort. Whatever they are, they look like they have never been used. The back seat looks perfect as well.
The clean engine compartment houses the big 400-cu.in. OHV V8 with 190 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque, Lean Burning through a three-speed TorqueFlite to the rear wheels. As expected, this one runs and drives like new, and the whole car looks as close to new as it gets. Any thoughts on this Cordoba?

An older lady in my hometown had this exact car, but with the cloth interior. She bought it new at the local Chrysler/Plymouth dealer and I believe she still had it when she passed away. I believe this one is fairly priced. Hope it sells and goes to a good Mopar family.
Aah, My Friends, Welcome to Fantasy Island! I am your host and sincerely hope you can fulfill YOUR Fantasy owning this magnificent Cordoba with rich Corinthian Leather. 👌 The price truly makes it a Bon Marche. No tattoos and far from DE PLANE cars so frequently popular elsewhere. 😅 🤣
Not the most exciting color combination, but the condition more than makes up for that. I too would like to see more pictures especially of the interior. Looks well worth the asking price to me.
I’d love to hear the back story on how a 48 year old Cordoba ended up in 2025 with 12,000 some miles on it!
Beautiful lines on this model, and it’s Mopar cousins.
I agree. I always thought it was one of the best looking cars of the personal luxury era. This being said they were never valuable, and really are not now either. So i’m wondering how the heck this one ended up like this.
Yeah, every now and then something with ridiculously low mileage pops up. It seems poignant in a way. There was a Chrysler-Maserati close to where I live that popped up here recently that one could see as an occasional summer cruiser. However this plain jane car which strikes me as a car some dealer ordered as low price come on would have been a driver from day one.
You win sir with “Corinthian’ier
Ha, thanks. I wasn’t sure if anyone would notice that.
The perfectly smooth seat surfaces suggest that it’s vinyl. Even at 12,700 miles, genuine leather would show a unique wear pattern.
You’re probably right, CCFisher and Bob Veenstra, thanks!
What a beautiful time capsule! This must’ve been the lower trim level Cordoba as the seats ARE vinyl buckets (same ones you got in the sister car 75-77 Dodge Charger) and not leather, also no bumper rub strips, filagree pinstripes that ran the entire length of the upper body and on the trunk lid. It has the extra cost 15″ road wheels that look great on these cars but rare to see without tilt steering wheel and power windows…still a very attractive deal!
All the engine and not a lot else. Kinda typical for cars of this era. Auto, air vinyl top and nice wheels were acceptable features. Everything else was fluff. This was the peak of the personal luxury craze. If you didn’t have a custom van you had one of these.
Even with 12,700 miles, this one looks like it just left the showroom. No apparent scratches anywhere and even the factory paper protectors for the carpeting make for a truly spectacular presentation. Many ugly 2025 video game cars sell for five to six times $10,000. I am not particularly attracted to land whales, but if I had the extra cash I would consider making an exception for this beauty. It will attract attention at the grocery store.
Can’t we just pretend it’s fine Corinthian leather? Jeeeeez! 😄
I worked at NJs largest Dodge dealer in 1982. The Doge counterpart to this was almost as nice. Back then Chrysler took their bevy of cars and slapped different model names on them for Dodge & Plymouth, sometimes different grill textures or different designs on the taillights but they were all pretty much the same cars.
As you all know I hate the 80s especially when referring to automobiles but I must admit, of the big three, Chrysler did the best job with downsizing & styling. Ford & GM were just narrow slab sided boxy charactitures of their former selves.
I bought a few trucks from Greenfield Dodge in Lawrenceville. Who was the “biggest”?
@Crown
Dodgeland in (Springfield?) RT 22 east of Westfield. It’s been decades & the memory is definitely waining. Owned by the Toresco family. (Supposid mob connections)
When the big boss “Don” passed in 1982 the line of cars for his funeral was literally 5 miles long. The police department stopped traffic to keep the line of cars moving through red lights and stop signs.
They closed all 15 dealerships that day and you were pretty much ordered to attend.
I remember that dealership name. Too far north for me, back then.
I love it because the engine size starts with a 4!
The seller has deleted the listing, did one of you snag this Cordoba?
