I’m a fan of pampered, low-mileage classic cars with a known history and plenty of documentation to substantiate their time capsule status. This 1973 Cadillac Eldorado Coupe checks all of those boxes. It is currently at a classic and used car dealership in the Sioux City, South Dakota area and is listed here on craigslist with an asking price of $24,995. Another shout out to our pal, T.J. for spotting this pampered Caddy Eldo!

This seems to be a flip, because it was featured on Barn Finds less than two months ago. It was a no-reserve auction from a private seller, and based on the article’s comments, ended up selling for the bargain price of $10,300. Hagerty values a #2 Excellent Condition ’73 Eldorado at $25,200, so the Caddy’s current $24,995 asking price is fair.

The condition of this pampered Eldorado is impressive, inside and out. It’s a testament to the good life this Cadillac has had the past 53 years. Based on a dash plaque and documentation, it was originally purchased on June 30, 1973 by a Mr. Earnest Buchanan at Ben Feferman Motor Sales in South Bend, Indiana. It’s had three additional owners who have all pampered it and kept receipts to verify its low mileage. As you can see from the photos, the Laredo Tan Poly finish is attractive and presents very well. The padded white vinyl landau roof looks good and compliments the metallic tan paint nicely. The panels look laser straight and I’m not seeing any rust, or bumps and bruises.

The lush and plush interior of this Eldorado looks magnificent. The white-leather seats look perfect as do the white door panels and everything else in the cabin. This Caddy is loaded with front driver and passenger power seats, power windows, A/C, cruise control, power antennae and lots more. The dealer says that everything works as it should.

Under that long tan metallic hood rests a 501-cubic-inch V8 with only 14,042 miles on it so far. The 501 generated 235 net horsepower via front wheel drive and is mated to a Turbo-Hydramatic 425 three-speed automatic transmission. Model year 1973 proved to be a successful and historic one for Cadillac as it built its five-millionth “Standard of the World” vehicle on June 27, 1973. The luxury brand also topped 300,000 in sales for the first time, including 51,451 Eldorado Coupes. This is one of those special motorcars that deserves time capsule status. Once you sink into that comfy white leather driver’s seat, I bet you’ll be transported back to the showroom of Ben Feferman Motor Sales in South Bend, Indiana, circa 1973. What a beautiful boulevard cruiser this one is.

Hey Angel 😇! Here’s one for Ya’
and what a looker too! You’d sure
look great toolin around in this one! Looks sharp but too bad it has that God awful 425 transfer case in it. Gave me more trouble
than Carter has liver pills. While I like the looks of these cars , I don’t like the half baked engineering that went into them.
they should’ve kept ’em RWD and
left it that way. But, such is progress for better or worse. Everyone’s waiting for the latest and greatest in everything these
days, including TVs. You can’t even change the channel without
having some kind of college degree in electronics. I mean c’mon folks, can’t they make a TV
that an old fart like me can use
WITHOUT racking up $750K in
college debt learning how to use it? There’s a lot to be said for the
old fashioned way.
Oooooo, someone got up on the wrong side of the bed. LOL
The ’73s were ok, I i like the ’71 and ’72 better.
The ’74 was kinda half ’73 and half ’74. Now the ’75 and ’76 are definitely mine! Especially in the convertible. The hardtops dont do much for me.
This is a pretty color, too.
Next time, Ken, stay in bed if you’re going to be grumpy. LOL J/K
