1956 Gullwing for $3,000…With A Bed!

dodge

Well, it IS a sort of gullwing…just a gullwing hood, not doors! The ad states that this 1956 Dodge pickup is the last year with this distinctive hood design. Given that I have a car that has a similar hood design and it’s a pain to work on the engine in it, I’m pretty sure I know why it was changed. This old truck has some bumps and bruises, but doesn’t have a whole lot of rust, and the flathead 6 and three-speed are working. The truck is located in Amherst, Virginia and is for sale here on eBay, where the buy-it-now is $3,000, but no reserve bidding starts at $1,500. That doesn’t seem like a lot of money for a 1956 gullwing, even if there is a pickup bed attached to the back!

Plenty of value in this old girl for whoever gets it with a high bid below the BIN. Too bad it’s not a short bed.

IMO it doesn’t seem too bad of a deal, the guy doesn’t seem to think he has a old rusty truck that deserves a new car price. I would think it would make some one a nice daily driver / parts hauler and still take to Saturday nite cruises.

Still at 0 bids. Great price for a clean unmolested truck. Sort out the interior a little more and keep it as is otherwise. Whoever gets this is getting a bargain.

Great find for someone. These got used until they didn’t go any more, and got thrown away. ( or in a corner, out of the way) I had a ’53 like this, only with the “pilot house” cab.(2 extra windows in back corners) Seemed those are a bit more desirable, but nothing wrong with this type. Again, like I say, I’ve had trucks of this vintage, and some serious gear changes are needed for today’s roads. 60 mph feels like the world is coming apart, and they were never intended to barrel down the interstate. Very cool truck.

Well, it does come with an air conditioner.
