One of the best-selling 1957 Chevrolet models/body styles was the Bel Air Sport Coupe. However, you could also get the Sport Coupe in 210 garb, which meant less trim but the same good looks. It was less popular than the Bel Air, selling one copy for every seven Bel Airs. The seller has a ’57 210 that’s a project neither he nor the prior owner ever got around to in 30+ years. So, it’s time for a third owner to give it a try. Located in a garage in Huntsburg, Ohio, this needy Tri-Five is available here on eBay, where the opening bid of $10,000 has thus far been elusive.

This Chevy Sport Coupe isn’t quite as rare as the seller suggests, as more than 23,000 of them left the assembly line 68 years ago. The seller acquired it from a party in Washington State six years ago, where a father/son pairing had had the car since at least 1994. It was apparently running when it was parked, and no known resuscitation attempts have taken place since. When the Chevy was produced, its exterior color was Inca Silver and the interior grey, so it was probably an attractive 210 back in the day.

It decodes as having been a V8 car from the beginning, but the 265 or 283 cubic inch V8 was replaced by a 327 long ago. And the 3-speed manual transmission shifter was relocated to the floor. The only key mechanical part missing is the generator, though it’s seen in the engine bay photos. All of the glass is fair to good, and rust has been held to a minimum over the past seven decades. The interior will need an extreme makeover, while the patina on the outside panels might wait a little longer.

There as some issues with the title, you and the seller will have to work out with the DMV. The title was signed over to the seller, but he never got a new one issued, so ya’ll need to figure that out before the trailer with the Chevy on it gets out of sight. The seller was planning to drop in a built 350 and a Muncie 4-speed, so perhaps the seller and the buyer can talk turkey over these components if they’re in the vicinity. This 210 looks like it has a solid foundation to work with, but a lot of hours and dollars await the buyer’s attention.

Not much got accomplished in 30 years, but by golly the steering wheel got swapped!
Likely at the same time the “3 on the tree” linkage was removed.
I like that steering wheel. Though I’d prefer it in a 55 or 56 ford.
No bids? Starting at 10,000?..that’s because it’s a 4000 car..
on a REAL good day.
Ivory and charcoal were the suggested trim colors for a 1957 Inca Silver 2100 series.
Ten dimes seems like a great deal of money for this car in its current condition. In my younger days this would be a two figure car and certainly not four figures. Of course that was then and this is now. Even so now I see nothing special about this car making it worth the ask.
Listing has ended, more often than not than means it was sold locally, off eBay.
