1969 Jaguar E-Type: Red XKE Garage Find

Jaguar E-Type

Wow, can you imagine finding a red XKE parked in your garage? This 1969 is a Series 2 car with mechanical improvements over the earlier cars, like better cooling. Sadly the interiors, while safer, weren’t as nice and the styling, especially the rear, just wasn’t as cool as the earlier E-Type. These issues are reflected in Series 2 values, so it’s no wonder no one has jumped on it at $65,000. Similar, nicely sorted examples often sell for $45,000 or less. The owner says it runs and drives, but who knows what kind of work it needs. Overall, the seller is very vague about details and for this kind of money should be more forthcoming. They do state that it has spent its whole life in the dry southwest and that it has 53,000 miles, but that’s not remarkably low for a car like this. It’s for sale in Orlando, Florida, which seems strange seeing as the car is in Albuquerque, New Mexico. If you can look past all the questions, this Jaguar looks to be in lovely condition and can be found here on craigslist.

Well, you must not know jaguars then. The ad clearly states if you know jaguars you know what this is. Obviously anyone asking more questions doesn’t know what they are looking at. Here’s a hint: a crooked seller trying to get t0p dollar for his car by posting it around the country.

if the seller knows what this is it would be on Ebay or at a highline auction. there would also be more photos/text. close to the price of the TR6 from the other day. if this car is all there it is a great find.

A $65,000 project car that wouldn’t be worth that much restored to be worth it. So little info and more than top dollar. Its a scam or he is crazy.

I also found this ad yesterday on Craigslist and guessed it was a scam by an opportunist to make a quick margin on the real sellers price of $60,000. See below:

Looks like someone has put 3 Weber carbs on the engine. Maybe the seller thinks that and a life in New Mexico means the car will bring top money like a perfect car at major auctions. It won’t. Way overpriced.

Is that a Helicopter behind the car? What kind of garage is it?
