This 1972 Plymouth Duster 340 looks like a fun project with its hood snorkel and deck spoiler. It has been parked for 10 years so it will obviously need to be gone through. As the seller mentions, the fuel system will need to be cleaned out, fluids replaced, and brakes checked out. The interior will also need help, but luckily rust appears to be minimal. The floor is supposedly solid and the trunk has been replaced at some point. The only problem is that the original 340 V8 is not in the car and white is not the factory color. As such I wouldn’t look at this one as a preservation job. That could be a plus or a minus depending on what you want to do with it. Take a look here on eBay where bidding is up to $5k.

don’t see how it can be worth this much without the 340 and all that is needed.
I’ve always liked the 340 Duster/Demon and I would be willing to take one on for a project. However, buying one without the engine for anything higher than $2-$4K is about as much as it’s worth. I foresee many thousands of dollars being poured into this car as it is. Having to source an engine just adds to the mix. In my mind: not worth it.
Her is what that white duster looks like now almost completed Its back to original color and condition
