1993 Ford Mustang Cobra and Two Other Fox Body Convertibles!

With the desirability of the Fox body Ford Mustangs seeming to be on the rise, now is a good time to own one, especially when it’s a 1993 Cobra with just 41,000 original miles.  However, owning four is much better, and while the seller wants to keep one, it sounds like he’s ready to part with three.  If you’ve been in the market for a Mustang near the end of the Fox era run, a trio of fine offerings can be seen here on Craigslist in Powhatan, Virginia.  We want to thank Barn Finds reader Mitchell G. for spotting these and sending us the tip!

The seller has owned the 1993 Cobra for the last twenty years, during which time he has only driven it about 800 miles.  The odometer shows just 41,000 miles, which is claimed to be accurate, with the original paint remaining in above-driver quality.  Under his tenure, the car has never been driven in the rain, and it’s always been stored indoors or out of the weather.

The interior condition is described as almost perfect, with the photos seeming to back up this claim.  No detailing has been done underneath or in the engine bay, but the seller says performing those two tasks would bring this Cobra up to trailer-queen status.  The price here is $50,000, with the seller expecting very close to his asking amounts for all three offerings.

The other two are both 5.0-powered droptops, with the red car claimed to be a 1992 Summer Edition and an all-original survivor.  Other than the rear bumper, the paint is said to remain entirely factory original.  Like the Cobra, this one hasn’t been driven in the rain while under the seller’s care.  However, the canvas on top is stated as showing its age, as are the front bucket seats, but some more positive news is this one’s got a 5-speed manual.  An asking price of $12,000 has been set here.

Lastly, the white 1993 convertible is described as an all-around great car, with lots of work performed over the past 10 years.  One recent addition is said to be a brand new “built” transmission, though the seller doesn’t go into any details regarding what components are inside the automatic.  The interior is stated to be original and in awesome shape, with the top said to still be operating fine.  The price of $15,000 seems in the ballpark for this one.  Any thoughts on this trio of Fox body Mustangs?

A nice set of Fox Bodies. The Cobra looks particularly good, and of course is the high-dollar car of the three. The two Feature Cars look pretty good too, though the 1992 is going to need some (not cheap) upholstery and/or top work. I wish there were better pics of these two.

Sounds like the seller is into downsizing mode; he’s got Broncos for sale too. From that ad, his fourth Fox is a 93 black Cobra for $40k.

I know how it is with Mustangs! You start with one, the next thing you know? You’re building another garage.

I used to have the Fox Body Mustang/Capri disease. (I lost count at about 25) I will not buy any more Mustangs/Capris. I have an ’87 5.0 and an ’84 SVO. Both are going to donors for my Ford (Fox body) Durango. (The last Fox Body that I will own.) Good strong reliable cars. I was a Parts and Service Director at a Ford store in the ’80s and early ’90s. We never saw these come back for warranty work or any kind of repairs. (the same could not be said for Explorers or Tempos!) Mustangs and 4cyl. manual transmission Rangers are reliable as an old brick.
