2 For 1: Pair of 1967 Pontiacs

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

Both the LeMans and GTO were part of Pontiac’s mid-size line-up for 1967. The former was the upscale version of the Tempest and the GTO – now a series of its own – covered the performance end of the spectrum. The seller has two of these cars, one a LeMans pillared coupe and the other a GTO hardtop. Both appear to need a lot of work and will only be sold as a pair. Located in Pompano Beach, Florida, the seller is asking $6,000 for the couple here on Facebook Marketplace. Thanks for the tip, Steve P.

The faded red coupe (formerly blue) here is a ’67 LeMans sport coupe and the insignia on the front fenders indicate the engine under the hood is Pontiac’s 326 cubic inch V8. This car was produced in smaller qualities than the pillarless hardtop, so it would be one of 10,693 that Pontiac cranked out in 1967. We assume the car hasn’t run in a while, we don’t know what it will take to change that, and the sheet metal doesn’t seem to have any gaping issues (i.e., rust).

Finished in primer grey is the ’67 GTO which should have had some version of a 400 cubic inch V8 under the bonnet. But we don’t know if there is any engine there now or if the 4-speed is still there either. This car may have been painted red when new and the passenger compartment looks to be filled with various parts. There is rust present in this auto, starting with the panel where the windshield wipers would be. This would have been one of 65,176 units produced in ’67, making it less rare than the Lemans, but potentially more desirable.

This listing for these two cars was posted more than a year ago and the seller says if the ad is still up, the vehicles are still available. That tells us he/she has had no luck in selling the package deal for $6,000 or any other number, for that matter. But is there potential here to make one good car out of two?
