The seller of this beautiful 207-mile (!) 2006 Honda Shadow Spirit VT750DC teases us endlessly, showing only close-up photos rather than including any overall photos of this beautiful motorcycle. It’s big, but it’s not that big, so that’s disappointing. I’m sure they’d send any serious parties more photos if need be. It’s located in Katy, Texas, and they’re asking $5,500. It’s listed here as a Barn Finds Classified!
There’s no such thing as too much orange in my world, and this Candy Metallic Orange color is killer on this bike, in my opinion. But I’m the guy who also likes paisley brocade seat fabric, and wore blue velvet pants to pick up my hard-earned high school diploma, so there’s that. Honda had so many 750s that even with my tiny library of motorcycle books and the entire internet, it’s hard to keep track of them all.
Here’s somewhat of an overall photo! The Shadow series took advantage of the infamous V-twin engine made popular by Yamaha. Ha, just kidding, it was Harley-Davidson, of course. The cruiser style was and still is hot after many moons. The VT750 appeared around 2001 and was made until 2007, skipping the model year 2004 for some reason. You can see the incredible condition of this bike in the photos; it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.
The seller says this Shadow Spirit was owned by a gentleman who sadly had dementia, and it was subsequently stored for a couple of decades. It’s said to have just 207 miles on it, and the original owner’s wife had their son come over and pick it up after it had sat for around 20 years. The son started to clean it up but lost interest and sold it to the current owner. The new owner took it apart and made it look like new again, although we don’t know exactly what condition it was in when they got it. The fuel system was cleaned, new tires were added, and it was generally recommissioned into the shining jewel you see here.
This thing is beautiful! This is Honda’s 745-cc liquid-cooled four-stroke SOHC V-Twin with around 43 horsepower and is backed by a 5-speed transmission.
