While some enthusiasts focus on high-performance models, others prefer a more leisurely and luxurious classic motoring experience. If you fall into that category, you may find this 1980 Cadillac Sedan de Ville irresistible. The first owner ordered it with the optional d’Elegance Package, emphasizing this car’s luxury leanings. It presents superbly, which is unsurprising given the genuine 26,000 miles showing on its odometer. After three years in their care, the seller has decided the time is right for this Caddy to find a new home. Therefore, they have listed it here on eBay in Willoughby, Ohio. They set their BIN at $11,000 with the option to make an offer.

Cadillac launched its Fifth Generation de Ville range in 1977, offering buyers a choice between Coupe and Sedan variants. Our feature car is the latter, ordered in 1980 by its first owner in Superior Blue with a matching vinyl top. Its presentation is extremely impressive, with no glaring cosmetic shortcomings. The paint retains a mirror shine, cloaking arrow-straight panels. The vinyl is in as-new condition, and the seller’s array of underside shots confirms that this beauty is rust-free. The glass is crystal clear, and the trim shows no evidence of deterioration. The wheels are fitted with their correct covers and wrapped in narrow whitewalls. However, it is the subtle d’Elegance badges on the rear pillars that mark this Caddy as a cut above the ordinary.

After a brief absence, Cadillac reintroduced the d’Elegance Package to the de Ville range in 1980. Costing a hefty $725, it brought interior enhancements like Venetian velour upholstery, a split front seat, and other interior upgrades, accentuating what was already a pretty luxurious motoring experience. This Sedan’s interior Blue trim matches the exterior color combination, and the condition is extremely impressive. Velour cloth often doesn’t age well, but there are no problems inside this classic. The lack of wear and other issues supports the mileage claim, indicating that this Caddy has been treated respectfully throughout its life. The carpet looks excellent, as do the dash, pad, and woodgrain trim. The interior isn’t short of creature comforts, featuring climate-control air conditioning, power windows, power locks, a six-way power driver’s seat, cruise control, a tilt wheel, remote exterior mirrors, and an AM/FM radio/8-track player.

Although 1980 Sedan de Ville buyers could opt for a diesel engine, most preferred the smoothness and refinement of the 368ci V8 powering this classic. It delivers 150hp, a figure that was considered pretty respectable for the era, while the remaining major mechanical components include a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes. The seller doesn’t mention verifying evidence for the mileage claim, but the car’s overall condition supports it. Of course, that isn’t an ironclad guarantee of accuracy, and some potential buyers may reach out for clarification. Otherwise, this beauty runs and drives well, and the seller has used it for weekend outings over the past three years.

This 1980 Cadillac Sedan de Ville is a stunning car, and the d’Elegance Package guarantees a comfortable motoring experience for its new owner. It appears to need nothing and is a stunning survivor. Values for these classics rose in 2025, though not dramatically. However, with that trend showing no signs of slowing, the seller’s realistic price could make this Caddy an excellent investment prospect. Of course, many enthusiasts focus more on the ownership experience than a potential future financial windfall, revelling in all that their classic provides. If you prefer to live life in luxury, this Sedan de Ville makes perfect sense, with the listing statistics seemingly supporting that. Are you tempted?

Beautiful well preserved Caddy. I actually like the standard full sized wheel covers, its a nice change over the wires ( nothing wrong with them it just seems like they’re on 99 percent of the Cadillacs made during that era). The 368 was the last good Cadillac produced V8 for the full sized models. I always thought it was a shame they didn’t just stick with that engine instead of going to the HT 4100 series. I’m just wondering about that air filter housing, it doesn’t look like its from a Cadillac. The rest of the engine definitely looks like a Cadillac V8, just that air filter housing looks different. This sure looks like its been pampered its whole life. Great write up Adam, I saw this Caddy on Fast Finds and was hoping it would get featured. Thank you Adam, I enjoyed it.

d’Elegance pkg is icing on the cake of this low mile Caddy.
And so rarely seen. It’s something luxury cars should offer today, since all cars come with the same exact hard bucket seats.
Man what a nice Caddy and just the other side of the Cuyahoga River from me. Right now there’s several inches of snow on the ground so no test drives for this beauty I would assume.
Miss the pillow seats !! My dad had them in his blue caddy back then!!!!
Last of the good Cadillac cars and one of the few GM cars I would consider owning, this is one if you can negotiate a agreeable price with the seller you fly back and drive it home, might have to stop somewhere and buy a set of tire chains depending on how far you have to go.
Nice car. Beats what came after. The next year was the 8-6-4 and a year after that was the Hook and Tow 4100 (HT4100).
My wife had an identical car, she felt lucky to sell it for $500. Guess there’s no accounting for taste.
