3 for 1: 1972 Honda Z600 Package Deal

Quirky, cool and fun, the Honda Z600 was Honda’s second automobile to be officially sold in America. Powered by an air-cooled motorcycle like engine, these small cars are fun and affordable classics. Like with any uncommon car, amassing plenty of spares is a must. You are not only buying 1 Z600, but instead you are buying 3 Z600’s with plenty of parts to spare. All of this compact fun can be yours for $3,000. Take a look here on craigslist out of Mesa, Arizona. Thanks Pat for sharing this great find of Micro cars!

The silver Z is a running and driving car with a clear title. Although this car is a driver, it still has some brake concerns. The brake systems on these cars can be fickle with the brake master sticking, and the brake booster needing special care for a rebuild. Rubber brake lines are also often bad due to their short nature, and exposure to the elements. Originally orange, this Z has been repainted and is missing a few minor items, but overall appears to be quite a solid car. Usually the floors are rotted, along with the front edge of the roof from the manner in which the headliner is sealed in with the windshield.

Customs flares and over sized tires have been added to this Z, and really it is a nice looking car. There are some dimples on the hood, but there does not appear to be any exterior rust or rot.

Z number 2 is a parts car but just from this image there are valuable parts in sight. If you ever wanted to have a stock Z and then a sport bike powered Z well this could be your opportunity. As these cars get consistently older, parts and spares become more and more rare. For instance, new brake rotors are not available so you are left to finding good used rotors. Also the Japanese N and Z 360 owners want our American N and Z 600 front disc brakes.

Car number 3 appears to be a bit more together than car number 2 but this car is missing its windshield which is a very difficult item to find. I would guess this car to be the better of the two parts car, and potentially a candidate to revive. With all of the included spares, and the two parts cars you would have a fair chance of keeping the silver car going for quite a longtime. There are still some independent American suppliers that offer much needed parts for these cars, so they aren’t as intimidating as they may seem. I will tell you from personal experience this is a car you can drag race any and everywhere. The best part is that no one will have any clue that you are drag racing! Would you give these cool American market Honda Kei cars a new home?

This is a pretty good deal. If I’d grab it, forget stock. I’d be looking for a modern motorcycle mill to stuff under the hood. Honda’s 999 cc twin from the RC51 would be one of top candidates depending on how much useable real estate is in the engine compartment. The only area of the car I’d keep as stock looking as possible is the interior although I’d give attention to the front seats for better support.

Sadly, it would cost me more to get these Honda Z-cars to NZ than the purchase price. Besides, I already have enough projects.

Maybe Scotty would be tempted to add them to his collection?
